Pre-op diet
I had to go on a 10-day pre-op diet before my surgery. I lost 17 pounds. The first seven days consisted of a meal replacement for breakfast, a protein supplement for my two snacks, and for lunch and dinner it was 1/2 a meal replacement with 2-4 oz of lean meat and 1/2 a cup of vegetables. The final three days were all liquid.
In fact, I have plateaued, so my dietician in my surgeon's office put me back on the 10-day diet beginning today, which will break the plateau.
If you are on a similar diet for your pre-op, I suggest getting lots of sugar-free popsicles.
