SMOKING AFTER SURGERY
I was a pretty devoted smoker for many years even smoked right up to the day of surgery. (EITHER SMOKE OR EAT) But, since surgery,, I dont seam to have a craving for it. In fact the SMELL of cigarette smoke turns my stomach. Im not upset about it at all. I wanted to quit after surgery anyway,, but,, thought it would be more of a struggle..
I was wondering how common this is. Has anyone experienced the same side effect after surgery.

The info is out there. I went cold turkey in cigs 5 yrs ago and replace it with food. Had surgery and little by little by body is getting back to normal at 62
If the smell is bad - just think whatever it takes to stop
Oh the surgeon tried to make me quit smoking before surgery... I really tried,, REALLY cut back but,, was not able to quit till after surgery... The thing is that after surgery,,,, I didnt even have to think about it.. I just no longer interested me AT ALL!!! Strange side effect,, one that I was not expecting....

Love the smell! I have no cravings for cigarettes - quit them about 18 years ago. Picked up cigars about 3 years ago - you know - 3 or 4 a week (the petite cigarellos). Never inhaled. Love the taste and the smell. But i have committed to not smoking till 1 year post op. Don't want to hear it from the docs.
