Less then 7 hours to go now....

My surgery is in less then 7 hours and I can't sleep, I'm too excited.  I have to be at the hospital in less then 5 hours so it doesn't even pay to sleep.  Everyone keeps asking me if I'm nervous, and to tell you the truth I really am not.  This is something that I have wanted for a long time and I finally found the right insurance that covered it.  Also this is by far not my first time I've had major surgery.  I had 9 surgeries on my leg when I had this flesh eating bacteria super strep thing necrotizing faciitis, and my heart stopped twice during my first surgery for that.  After all of the surgeries for it they ended up taking a chunk out of my right groin part of my leg 9" long 2 1/2" deep and 1" wide.  That was in November of 2005 and I was completely healed of it by February of 2006.  Plus I had surgery on my jaw in 2004 because of an absess that was caused by an infection from having a tooth removed wrong at a free clinic when I didn't have insurance.

I've survived pretty much the worse pain in the world.  When I woke up from my 3rd leg surgery 20 min early before the pain meds kicked in and I ripped the metal bar off of the side of the bed I'm pretty sure thats equivilent or worse then child birth is for women.  But who knows.

Wish me luck, I shall play some video games until its time to go to the hospital.

I know you are probably already at the hospital and about to undergo your surgery, but wanted to send you a message anyway.  Let us know when you get home and take it easy....   Hang in there, you're going to see massive results.

Daniel,

WLS ought to be a cake walk for you.

Remember to follow the Four Mantras of Life Post WLS:

1.  Sip, sip, sip.  Need to get your fluids in.
2.  Walk, walk, walk.  Exercise and prevent blood clots.
3.  Any problems - CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!  'nuff said.
4.  Except in the Locker Room - never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!  You may find yourself experiencing a "laundry emergency"!

Hang on and enjoy the ride!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Good Luck Man....I'm sure you'll be fine!!

Way to go beating up your bed, I did the same thing after I woke up from the coma after 2.5 weeks...I was hallucinating and strapped to the bed, I somehow still managed to destroy a $30,000 Bariatric Bed with my feet. Next time they wont leave me alone. HAHA.
