I am 3 years out from RNY. At the 1 1/2 year mark I had lost 175lbs of 375 that I needed to lose. Then I got off track and for the last 1 1/2 years I have stayed the same. 10 days ago I recomitted to losing the last 200lbs. I was able to weigh yesterday and in 10 days I have lost 16lbs. I've got a long way to go but it's good when you can see the progress.

You know, it is certainly one thing to lose a certain amount, stay the same, and not care.  It is a whole other thing to lose a certain amount, stay the same, then get to a point where you want to recomit and refocus.  Unfortunately, from my experience, it is much harder on down the road than right after surgery.  So, even when you hit one of those plateaus again, just stick with it.  Remember that you control the food, it shouldn't control you and you are going to get those 200 pounds off and you are going to be the incredible shrinking person that you dream of being.

Hang in there and don't give up.....   Great job on starting back again!

Way to go Wayne.  Use the tool.

We are here to support you.  Keep us informed of your progress and when you need a kick in the azz, let us know.  That is one thing we are good at here in the Locker Room.

Congratulations on your renewed found success.  I've been posting recently that I've been back on the "program" since 01-29-09.  I've been a junk food junkie and carb addict for over 40 years.  I lost a lot of weight after my first RNY on 11-14-2000 but had to have a revision done on 01-21-05 due to a staple line disruption.  I only lost 40 lbs then and basically gave up.

I posted on the Main Forum back in Jan and asked if anyone knew of a book that would help me get back on track.  A food addiction therapist suggested that I get the Beck Diet Solution.  This book has worked better than any therapist or other program I have ever been on.  I use my WLS diet in conjunction with the written exercises in the book.

If you can continue to lose weight without the book, that's fine.  I'm only suggesting the book because it teaches us how to follow a food plan (diet) and how to think like a thin person.  I'm amazed that I'm no longer a slave to my old food compulsions.

Don't be surprised if your rate of weight loss decreases.  I lost about 3.5 lbs for each of the first 2 weeks.  Then I lost 10 lbs the following week but I think that's because I started pumping my legs with a lymphedema pump ( which I should have been doing but hadn't been doing for years),  I attribute the large weight loss that week to fluid discharge..  I've lost 5 lbs a week for each of the last 2 weeks and I'm really amazed at that.  I go to get weighed weekly and I'm just hoping the reading on the scale is anything less than the previous week.  I'm willing to lose the balance of my excess weigh slowly if necessary.  Bob
