Oh God! I'll never be able to go to a First Kitchen again with a straight face...not, mind you, as a diligent post-op WLS patient that I would ever dream of doing so!

Hehe...No, my wife is such a good cook and really loves doing it. I have little need to go out to restaurants, unless I'm truly overcome by curiosity about new food. I thought Fuakin was a Tokyo institution?  I remember going Fuakin once with a girl I met at Hard Rock Cafe in Akasaka. Or was that FUR Ktchen?!!

There seems to be an outbreak of Assburgers syndrome in the schools, you know.

They came out with a pamphlet about it last week.

Seriously, my students are so confused by foreign words and the Japanese pronunciation thereof in their own language, they have a really hard time picking up English. (Then, not studying much probably has a lot to do with it.)

I hear you. I feel sorry for both them and you. The English programs shoved on them at schools are so awful, though I guess they've improved a bit.
But I'm sure you've hit the nail on the head...Japanese college kids studying? Are you crazy????
