Home from surgery
Great to hear. Sip, walk, rest, repeat...Very boring stuff the first few weeks. For many new guys we hear (including me), I can't get in all my protein or fluids. We know, your doctor knows...Just do your best and you'll be find. A couple other things (a little homework); know the signs of dehydration. Dehydration is the # 1 reason people end up back in the hospital post WLS. Also know what a stricture is and the symptoms. 10% of RNY patients get them post op. Very treatable. The gas will be gone in a few more days...They had to spray air all around the surgery area to look for leaks. Very easily roll around on the floor or bending over like you're tieing your shoes might help...It will pass. Brian
Congrats. I almost laughed when I read cabin111's recommendations for getting rid of the gas. I'm 7 years out from original RNY and 4 years out from Revision RNY. If I were to find myself on the floor, I'd have to call 911 to have someone come out and help me stand up. I have an almost constant fear of falling.
As to your situation, I agree with what cabin111 had to say. It's good to hear what newbies are going through. It helps keep the rest of us honest with our programs.

Thought you would ask that...Sorry man, I don't have the information quickly at hand...I'll just be guessing. Dehydration...light headedness, disorentated (sp). A stricture is a narrowing just below your pouch. You have to get it scoped. The doctor (Gasto) fills a balloon and expands the area. I would post these questions on the Main Board...you'll get a ton of answers real quick...Sorry I'm not a good help. Brian PS was also remembering...the pain near your bellybutton is where they put the camera...That one should heal quickly too.
