6 days out
Hey congrats on the best decision you will ever make in your life. Obviously you have just had a surgery and you are going to feel weak. Light headed, I didn't get light headed, but you are on liquids and your body is assimilating to the lower calorie count so it might contribute to light headedness. Keep on walking, even if you do laps around the coffee table and sip your liquids. You will be all the better for it. I am 3 months out and feel great, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey Newman, I did feel lightheaded when I got to about my second week after RNY. I went to the ER a couple times because I just couldn't stand up without everything going dark and I felt like I was going to pass out. The diagnosis was that I wasn't getting enough protein in and I was dehydrated. To know if you are dehydrated, you can lay one of your hands flat on your lap or on a table top. Then with your other hand, pinch a piece of skin. If it goes right back down to the normal shape, you're probably okay, but if it is slow to go back down, you're probably on the verge of dehydration.
Be sure you're getting all your protein in and be sure you are drinking enough. I know it is hard this close out of your surgery, but it is what's going to allow you to heal quickly. If it keeps up, call your doc.

Come to think about it, after reading Cabin111's post, I did remember that my ER visit showed my potassium was low and I had to go on Potassium supplements for a little while after that. That very well may be the problem.
