OT: What can we invest in?

I'm about to research investing in roofing and sewage treatment. Those are the only two "recession-proofs" that I can think of.  Can I invest in junk food (bonds) maybe?

Instant Ramen (noodles), is one I forgot about. Supposedly booming.

Here are some big boring companies that I like...Like everything...take it with a grain of salt...use due diligence.  I'll just give you the symbols and you can look them up if you'd like to:  WMT, QQQQ, WFC, PEO, XLE, FSTEX, RVT, FUND, SCHW.  The stocks are big (industry leaders) and very boring.  The mutual funds mostly seem to pay a good dividend year in and year out.  Brian  PS  You can look these up on Yahoo Finance.

Man what a topic.  As a former NYSE broker, I think they call them FA's now,  could jack this up a notch.  You know there is trouble in wonderland when you can finish the guru's sentence b4 he does. Try Cramerizing yourself.  Get fuzzy for awhile.
My wife have gold , silver bullion, real estate, cd's and green stuf***** ripped on our basket to a tune of 40%.  Bailed from our Scot trade leaving $100. behind.
THERE AINT NO SUCH THANG AS  a good basket anymore. Hang out in 09' til u can get your rocks back

GBP (British pound) is a steal at 1.383 I think. I started trading currencies recently and the beauty is that the brokers give you 20 to 50 times leverage. I'm max long GBP.

Thanks, guys. Yeah yen to British Pound sounds really attractive, especially if the pound goes back up and then yen should happen to crash. The South Korean Won is low, low but that economy is so reliant on exports no one knows how long recovery will take.

I've been thinking of exchanging some of my dollars for Euros. They seem to be keeping their value. Although the Dollar is keeping it's value right now, I suspect it will begin to drop off soon. When it does, I would hope the Euro would continue to hold steady as it seems to be doing and I will still have that little bit as a nest egg if I ever ran into a bind.
