Anthony Bourdain & Ted Nugent on Obesity
I didn't disagree with anything they had to say. Except for the part about back in the day it was OK to pick on the fat kid, that hit a bit close to home.
How they think the world has changed on that point I don't understand. Especially while they are referring to fat people as sperm whales and blobaloids.
I think what they were saying was obesity is a choice and a character flaw. In my case anyway there is a lot of truth to that. I knew what I was doing to myself was wrong, and I did it anyway.

I disagree that it is a CHOICE. Eating is not a choice. One must eat.
There are many reasons to be over weight. Some are bad habits but how do you break them. Do you believe we were just not man enough to break them F*ck that. We all tried and could not do it without the help of a tool. Does it take focus, yes. Can everyone maintain that focus, no. It is not from lack of trying.
Who is paying for a WLS for those that do not have insurance or those that have it excluded? Who is paying for our supplements and added protein? Not the bleepin' jerks.
Mentally many also eat to feel better because they have not found a different way. Stopping that cycle takes perseverance and guess what MONEY? No one pays for good mental health either. That is if you have the balls to go and get help. Our society still says that it is your character to just pull up your belt and push through. B*llsh*t it is getting someone else to help you look at your issues and deal with them in a deliberate and educated manner.
It is not all our fault that we are/were fat. It is/was caused by many factors and fast foods and portion sizes being yet an other one of the big factors. To sell food they make it taste good. Taste in a cheap way is done through fat calories. Money makers.
I am bull that they want to put all the blame on the people that are fat. It is wrong. How many of us gave up dieting because we tried and tried again but could not keep it up. We wanted to be thinner we just could not find a way. It was not a choice!
No I am not angry ... nope not me at all.

In some respects I agree. Obesity is self destructive behavior and a burden on society.
The longer they both had mic time the funnier it got. Ted shines on occasion, but this subject shows how stupid he can be given enough mic time
Bourdain another story. Wife and I ran into him and had to take a shower soon after. No reservations has some great high spots. Tony just happens to screw them up. He cant be in a conversation with a fellow human for more than 15 seconds

Makes me wonder about the order of events:
1. Ted and Anthony come to the realization at very young age that they'll have to be really proficient musicians or cooks to make it in the world, because they're total ********
2. Or, they come to the realization that they are proficient and this gives them an excuse to be total ********

My first rock concert was Ted in 1979. He kicked a lot of ass back then. He can't really sell records any more cause the scene he helped create has moved on. So he sells outlandishness. I probably agree with more of what he says than disagree. Mostly cause he doesn't mind calling out a ***** for being a ***** Sometimes I wish I had a platform from which to do the same. But he goes overboard and purposefully alienates a wide swath of the population. BFD. I don't know who the other guy is.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
