How does that happen?
It has been a long winter, and I have managed to maintain my weight very well.
Well, now that spring is finally come, I decided to increase my exerice routine to get outside and ride my bike, walk, jog, you get the idea.
Guess what happened. In the last two days my weight went up 6.5 pounds! How in the world does that happen. I certainly haven't eaten 6.5 pounds of food in two days, not even close to that.
My closes don't feel any tighter, infact they fit a little better, but still, 6.5 pounds. I am worried.
Open to suggestions or support.

Hey Paul,
I know it is VERY frustrating seeing the scales change like that, especially when you start working out and doing things better than you may have before. Things are strange when you work out. I noticed a few pound gain when I started working out, but then I kept with it and then it all started dropping again. Your body has to have time to adjust to the changes it is going through. Your muscles are being restored, which will cause the pounds to increase a little. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Drink lots of water. If you have been drinking more water than normal, that could be the deal too. You may be retaining a little. Just keep at it and rest assured that next week, the scale will most likely be lower.
I bought a body fat analyzer from Academy for about $29. I hold it and it scans my body to tell me what percentage of body fat I have. This is a much better indicator of fat loss than the scale. There are so many more issues that could show up on the scale that won't be reflected in a body fat analysis.
Just keep all this in mind and just hit it another week and see what the results are. Don't get discouraged. If your clothes are feeling better, it must mean it's because they ARE....
Hang in there buddy.

Hey Rich, I got it at Academy Sports. I'm sure any fitness store would have them. Heck, it's possible that Wal-Mart may even have it, but I've never looked there. It is actually an "OMRON Fat Loss Monitor HBF-306". It was right at $30. It is just another tool for me to get obsessed about, but it makes more sense to use it. Another OH member told me about it a few weeks ago and I took his advice and bought it myself.
You should get one. It also calculates your BMI so as you lose the pounds, the BMI gets lower and as you lose the fat, the Fat percentage lowers.
Hope that helps.

I'll be looking forward to it. Be sure and post how you did. If you don't want to, you can always private message me. I'll be curious to see your results.
