This is from the main page.

Do any of you guys have a medical Id bracelet?  I ride a motorcycle alot and now starting to do a lot of outdoors activicties.  So if I get hurt should I have a med. id?

I bought one about three weeks ago.  It is not something that is drastically needed, but just in case.

I just feel more comfortable knowing that if someone finds me unconcious or otherwise impaired that I will get the correct help, and that the correct people will be contacted.

I have one of these.
They have a couple different options.
one where you put the text you want on it
and one where they will actually store data for you so if you have more med information that will fit, the hospital can call and get the rest of the info if you are not able to provide it.

I have my name & home phone
Info that I had an RnY
Instructions that say no Blind NG placement
My wifes name and cell phone number

Looks pretty neat. Is it comfortable? I've been actually concidering getting a tattoo on my wrist, but I like that they have it on file to inform the hospital or medic of your information. I'll have to remember that 'no blind" whichamacalit.

two of you have no ng tubes, is there something about that we rny ers should be aware of?

I wear a dog tag.  It has my name, surgery type, surgery date, surgeon's name, surgeon's off, and surgeon's office number.

My physician gave me an "Emergency Response Card" that says I had RNY, explaines it and has a picture of a RNY surgury on other side.  It is in my front pocket on my money clip at all times.

It worries me that I may get hurt and the treating physician may make things worse by not knowing.

yes the road i.d. is comfortable.  They also make one sized for your ankle.

The part about the blind ng for RnY patients is that your stomach has changed and they shouldn't just be snaking an ng tube down into it.  Could cause damage or could pass it further than it needs to be.
