I gained 4.8 lbs at my weekly weigh-in.
This follows my weigh-in last Thurs where I only lost 1 lb. I guess I need a little encouragement. I know that we face weight loss plateaus. I weigh and measure my foods and keep a daily food log. I also keep track of my exercising. I've been getting in about 80g of protein per day, 1.600-1,800 cal , and about 100 oz in fluids. I do have the normal prostate problems and I'm on flomax so I'm careful to drink very little before going to bed.
I do know that I'm not going to get frustrated and eat what I shouldn't. I'm disappointed, but I wouldn't trade in my good feelings that I've developed since 01-29-09. I'm not going to pick up any addictive foods, graze, nor blow my diet over these results. I know that I'll soon be dropping weight again.
But, since I do post my weight losses, I felt it was only right to post my weight gain. Bob

You've been out for some time. I am 4 mos out and had my monthly weigh in and lost 4 lbs in 30 days. Doc said I'am losing the right weight - fa****er, no muscle. He said I may lose slower since I exercise and OD on protein. My daily cal intake is 1022 plus any bonus cals daily plate gives for the 900 cal burned at the gym. I dont own any scales just a few pairs of 35" pants waiting to slide on. Thats my goal
I dont have any answers, your nut may
Good luck

Despite this recent gain, I'm still down 24 lbs net since 01-29-09. I think I just have to watch my fluid intake, reduce the use of salt (yeah, right), and start exercising some more. I'm finally beginning to do short walks without my cane and multiple short periods of time on my Gazelle exerciser. I told my primary on Tues that I have a goal of being able to walk without the cane by this summer--I'll take that to mean by 06-21-09 which will give me about 90 days to do it. I haven't walked without a cane in over 10 years. Bob
like has been said before, it's probably just fuild weight.
Mine bounces up and down like that. I know I haven't lost or gained 4 pounds over the course of a day or 2. When I see things like that I know it's water.
I just trend out what I do and I can see that I sit right about the same place.
Don't get discouraged.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
I send my brotherhood weekly e-mails regarding my health status. When I told him about this weight gain, he wrote back that most trends in biology do not go in a straight line. That is, I shouldn't expect my weight loss to be that steady. He is an expert since he is a professor of food microbiology. He said losses in biology tend to look like a saw tooth pattern. That's something I can relate to. Bob
I also thought about fluid balance issues. Could it be constipation?
The important issue that I see, is that you are sticking with the program. You have found what is successful for you, so stick with it. The fact that we can logically accept the fact that we will have platueaus does it not make it any easier to deal with emotionally when they do occur.
Are you weighing yourself at the same time of the day. I weigh myself just before I jump in the shower as my habit. Last week after work, we were wondering how much the puppy weighed, so I picked him up and jumped on the scale. When I weighed myself without him I weighed between 10 and 12 pounds more than I had two days before, I checked the next day and was about the same as my weekly weigh in. I guess that I had 12 pounds of clothing, fluid, food etc. that I had put on throughout the day. I think I remember you only weigh yourself at the MD office, so could these type of factors have accounted for the weight gain.
As you wrote don't let this frustrate you and lead to emotional eating. Stay with what has been working for you.
Good luck
