So far KNOCK on WOOD it has been clear Sailing for me after surgery.. I have not experienced ONE single bad side effect of complication AT ALL. Well Other then the gas.  The one thing I did noticed recently is that now Im starting to notice something a bit on the strange side.. I wonder if anyone esls has experienced the same thing..

Is it normal for something to be moving around.. Every now and then if I BEND OVER, or twist from the waist I can feel something flapp'n around I'm really sure its the lead that goes from the port to the band,, But, not sure.. If so is that supposed to happen??  I know they tack it down with those little O rings. But, is it supposed to move??

My best guess is that you are feeling the port itself.  When did you have surgery again?  I know for a few months following mine, I sort of felt like something was in a bind if I bent or twisted around the waist, too.  My doc told me it was my ab muscles healing around where the port is sewn in.  He said it should go away, and it did, not really sure how long, just that I haven't noticed it for a good while.  I'm almost a year out.  FWIW, as you lose weight, the more you will be able to see the outline of the port under the skin.  I can mash on it now and roll it under my fingers, but it doesn't hurt or bind up in any way.

I am assuming you've had a fill or two since surgery under fluoro - if the port lead was loose, it should show up.  If it was loose enough to be disconnected, the doc couldn't inject saline or draw any out.  It took me a couple of fills to realize the doctor first drew out what was put in the time before to check for port/lead leakage and be sure everything was still tied together and the band itself was holding fluid.  I'd be sure to mention these concerns to your doc next time you go in.

I can feel my port and when things pass through the band, but other than that I don't notice a feeling of something flapp'n around.  I would give it time, but would ask your surgeon about it the next time you go for a fill or checkup.  My surgeon doesn't seem to think I will ever have a problem with the port since it has been 18months.
