New Bicycle
I am a little over 4 months out and have lost over 100 pounds since I started mu journey a year ago. I weigh 221 and have lost a lot of mucsle. I am looking for a bike. My main area for riding is residential sidewalks and streets. Does anyone have any suggestions on a bike? In the past I liked the big tire style. Price range is $150 or less.
I'll contact my brother about this. I'm fairly sure that he looked locally for a bike but actually bought it online through a reputable dealer. He currently owns 5 bicycles and is a very serious ameteur rider. He usually rides about 3,000 to 5,000 miles per year. Last summer he rode accross the USA. Yeah, he has the time and the money to be able to do something like that. I'll e-mail him as soon as I'm done here. Bob
My brother said that he thinks that $1,500 is a little high for a first bike. He suggests that you go to local bicycle shops and test ride some bicycles in the $500-$700 range. He also suggests that you go to www.bikesdirect.com and check out the comfort bike ( it may be the comfortbike). Good luck with your shopping. I don't know if Boner is still around because he does a lot of riding and would have the perspective of a WLS patient. I also know that Bob L from TN is an avid bicyclist. You may recall him writing that he carries his bicycle on his long-haul rig and usually rides whenever he gets a break. Bob
Bob how are the eyes doing?

I would look for a beach cruiser for comfort adn sidewalk riding. If you want a more rugged bike get a entry level mountain bike from your local WalMart or yard sale. Once you figure out what you like adn you're going to stick with it you go out spend the 4-500
