Suggestions.....
i weigh daily as well.... i can see where it can be a problem for some, but i need to know if i'm on track, it is shows lower, that's great, if it show higher and is a pattern, i know i need to work on something.

As to the scale, I didn't weigh myself regularly when I was gianing weight. Plus, once I got above 350, it became difficult. I would only get weighed when I went to the doctor's office. As I became super morbidly obese, his scale was of no use. Once I started seeing the bariatric surgeon, I'd get weighed at his office. A few years ago I bought 2 identical scales so that I could straddle them and total the weight between them but I needed to have my wife present to write down the figures--even now if I look down I don't see my feet. And, the needles on the scales kept moving. Eventually I found that the wound center near the local hospital has a scale that I can be weighed on but I have to call ahead to use it.
Once I started using Beck's, she wants people to get weighed daily. I just don't believe in it. Weigh****chers goes with weekly weigh-ins as did every doctor's diet I was ever on. When I was in OA, they suggested getting weighed once a month. After I got weighed on a digital scale with a readout at about 4 ft, I got permission to come to her office once a week to get weighed. I do that and it keeps me honest
I know I talk a lot about keeping honest on my program now. That's because I'm a food addict and I've been lying to myself and to others for years about my eating. And, like most addicts, I'm only fooling myself. So, when it comes to my program, I take several steps to keep it honest such as weighing and measuring food at home, getting weighed once a week, keeping a log of what I eat, and planning on what to eat. I don't plan my meals because that never worked for me but I do plan my portions. Admittedly, sometimes I'll have too much protein at lunch and will then adjust the amount at dinner.
By the way, since we are mature adults, I do expect anyone who does try to use Beck's to use their best judgement in following it. She may think that all of her rules are cast in concrete, but some of us just need a little flexibility. I followed the program and did the daily tasks, but some just didn't apply to me. For example, I don't have to schedule time to work on my diet or for exercise since I have been retired for almost 17 years. And, I don't have any real responsibilities.
