my husband will be having bariatric surgery (hopefully)in August..I had mine a year ago....anyway, we were both wondering...we KNOW he will lose weight everywhere....well...does that include his "manhood"?..I know not in length...but what about width??..I know that is such a strange question...but we were having a discussion about it...please forgive me...we are NOT perverts...just a curious couple going thru weight-loss surgery together and wanted to cover all bases!!!..thanx everyone..(& sorry)    — Lisa Neel (posted on July 10, 2009)

Some basis byproducts of WLS for men.  The pennnis (have to type it that way or OH puts in***) narrows very slightly during the weightloss...yes, there is some fat in there.  The thing does not get longer (as urban legend would tell you).  What happens is that the fat at the base of the thing (around it) starts to go away.  Some experts (Dr. Oz I believe) have said you may be able to gain 1/2 inch for every 50 pounds lost.  There is better blood flow to all areas of the body which can help too.  As you know Lisa, the mental side of WLS becomes harder than the physical weightloss.  I would really encourage him to get on this board and try and make it to the local support group.  The problem with the local support group is that it usually 10 to 1 women to men...That is why this site (Men's Forum) is so good.  You might also want to have him try the website Quix WLS or something like that.  They also has a Men's Forum with good support.  Brian
