smoothe mixing protein powder???

Any suggestions for a smoothe mixing protein powder.
I have tried several and they all clump.  I have tried using the blender, the spoon, and the shaker bottle and they are all still clumpy.  I have tried using water, milk, soy milk and almond milk.  No difference.  I get the best results from the blender, but even then I find that there are chunks of it left in the bottom of the blender when I get to the bottom.  This is a pain especially at work where I can't break out the blender and go to town on it because of noise issues.  Our customer/public area is within ear shot of the kitchen, so we have to keep noise to a minimum

I don't mind the premixed drinks from the store, but they are a bit expensive to be drinking in the same quantities as the protein powder.

Another question.  I heard that you shouldn't premix and store the protein drinks.  Can anyone confirm this or do you have a brand that is ok to do this with.  If I could mix up a batch the night before at home in the blender and then bring that to work that would help, or if you can mix up a larger quantity for the week.  I just don't want to waste it.  I did try this early on and I found that it created a layer of foam by the end of the day.  It wasn't appealing looking and I wasn't going to chance drinking it.

Thanks

Scott

I use all natral ISOPURE its great. I take 12OZ milk 2scoops nonflav ISOPURE some fruit.(strawberry is the best) then I put in two packets of splenda. I then put in in the magic bullet. By the far the best mixer that I have ever seen. Never clumpy.

I've heard isopure mixes well...but it tastes like an old penny to me.

I've had an auto-shipment of Unjury for about two years now. Love it. I pretty much mix the unflavored with a single serving packet of crystal light. Or the strawberry powder is also really good with the lemonade. I just shake it up and let it sit for a few minutes. Never clumpy.

As for the pre-mix debate, I've read both ways. I don't think there is a definitive answer out there. I often will make a shake for breakfast the night before. It is so much easier since I'm VERY much not a morning person.

I have used the Isopure for three years now. Mixes with a spoon without any problems plus it has lots of vitamins and minerals that some don't have. I mix a scoop and half with 10 oz of cold water. Scoop and a half works out to about 35 grams of Iron. They say two scoops has 50. I like the taste but that will vary from person to person. I have found it the cheapest on eBay. GNC keeps it as well but it is quite a bit higher there. I get the low carb chocolate or zero carb vanilla.

I like to use the Solgar "Whey to Go".  I do two scoops and 8 oz 2% milk blended in a bullet.  I always make it the night before and let it sit in the refrig overnight.  I skim the foam that rises to the top off in the morning give it a quick stir with the spoon and off to work I go.  Starts the day with 40 grams of protein in an ice cold chocolate drink.  After six minths I am still not tired of it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

It looks like I'm going to go buy one of those Magic Bullets after work tonight.

Try to use the small container, it is the perfect size for the two scoop and the milk.  I don't even measure the milk any longer.  I find if I use the larger container that comes with the Bullet then there is too much air injected into the drink and it is too foamy for me.  When I first started out I used cruched Ice to make a smoothie but now find that I prefer it straight up.

I like using crushed ice, it adds a little volume to the drink.  It helps to satisfy the hungry feeling.
I'm certainly going to pick one up tonight and give it a try.  I just downloaded a 20% off coupon, and I have to drive right past that store on my way home.

Mixing a shake at work is no problem if you use one of the ones that can be mixed with a spoon;  they can also be mixed by putting the powder into a container with appropriate fluid in it ( water or other zero cal drink mix) that has a cap on lid.  Then you can just shake it up.  I use EAS but any of the Synergy products ( Matrix or the Nectar fruit flavors) will do.  Simple math/science allows you to measure how much powder is in a scoop and then fill up a baggie with the powder.  You can then measure the amount of a scoop into your drink at work and have a fresh shake.  If you continue to use the same brand powder, you can just take an extra scoop with you to work.  I know that all brands don't use the same size scoop.  But, I've been using EAS for years and have had extra scoops.

I have heard the story about protein shakes losing their strength over time.  I don't know whether that's true.  I tend to doubt it because in whey shakes, you are basically talking about powdered milk with additional proteins added, i.e., powdered milk doesn't lose it's strength overnight.
