Lapband Surgery tommorrow , how about some advise for the first 72 hours post-op???
I got on the scale this morning and I weighed 260, lost 25 pounds since my first office visit with Dr. Feng in October...........haven't been under 265 in over a decade, don't mean to be on a "pink cloud" but that is really a huge thing for me.
I have a healthy amount of anxiety over what to expect over the next few days and any and all advise is appreciated..........
Thanks for the support, Patrick

Take in every positive thing that happens and store it in your mind. Those will get you through the rough days when you stall or have a down moment. I went through the RNY, not the lapband, but can say that I am glad I went through it.
I wish you much success friend. Keep us posted as you progress on your journey.

Day 1, a lot of sleep... You will be sore, so you'll likely want to lay around anyway for the first 72 hours. You probably won't be real hungry, so don't worry too much about that. I did get thirsty for some reason, and I don't think there'll be any real limit on water intake, but stick only with water (or whatever your doc says)... You might or might not have some gas pains afterward, but it will pass in a week or so. Good luck!

Thanks guys, I am leaving for Palo Alto in an hour or so, about 220 miles.........got a room at the Sheraton for 3 nights, 1 pre-op 2 post-op, before driving home.................I am sure that I will have a lot more questions when i get home Sat. afternoon...........
thanks for the help and support.....Patrick

If you are reading this (Wednesday), you are probably finishing the bowel prep...Lots of fun!! The one thing I was thinking, ask for ear plugs. Esp if you are close to the nurses station...the little sounds can drive you nuts. Plus vitals being taken at all hours can really hurt you in the sleep department.
