help please for hubby/vasectomy?
Thanks Batwingsman, I am keeping a pretty close eye on it and hoping for no infection.
It was more like he would get hot and sweaty and within a few minutes he'd be dry heaving and then cool back down.
Illnesses just don't behave quite the same after WLS, so I was coming to you guys who may have had some experience.
No antibiotics were given that I know of, but sometimes it is just a quick one shot injection, so I will question him when he awakens.
The illness aspect seems better now. Now it is just a time thing for the swelling to go down.

I am surprised that they did this surgery so soon after his RNY. I had a vasectomy in July '95, followed by 20 straight days of temps above 90. I blame that on my getting an infection and being completely miserable. I wouldn't think that his dry heaves are related to the vasectomy but more probably to grouchy pouch. I am a year and 2 weeks out from RNY and had my share of reversals (throwing up and dry heaves) but none since about August, thank goodness. Tell him to hang in there. It gets better.
