Crazy Texas Weather closed schools...and the city | Into Another World35 Hilarious Texas Winter Memes To Warm Your Heart

Two weeks: 214.8

This week: 211.2

Pics are accurate! Little more snow/ice on ground than depicted. Fortunately for us electricity is on, DirecTV and Wi-Fi are working so were good. Stocked up on necessities so can make till Tuesday when it gets above freezing again.

Thanks for holding down the fort last week. Can let cat from bag - glad we came home from Hawaii last Sunday and not today! Probably have been diverted to who knows where because of all the cancelations at DFW. Did week in Honolulu to do the "touristy" things. Pearl Harbor and Polynesian Cultural Center. Weather was great there! Going in January meant fewer people but traffic still heavy.

Find out today who is going to Super Bowl. No dog in the hunt but I'll go with the visiting teams. Patriots and Rams.

Have a Great Week and stay warm!!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Wife has surplus of her GLP-1 and helping to reduce it down. Using it 2-3 times a week. Worst side effect is the diarrhea! Likely to use it till surplus is gone or I'm back to two hundred or less.

To answer your question about Hawaii - in a word "yes"! Many things to do there. Mentioned Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial and touring the Missouri where Japan surrendered while ship was anchored in Tokyo Bay. Also have the airplane museum that is on Ford Island. Have to go to Ford Island to get to the Missouri You ride the tour bus shuttle that runs between the Pearl Harbor / submarine museum to Ford Island not a boat. Only way to the Arizona is by a Navy launch. Have roughly 30 minutes once you get there. They reiterated several times before going to the Memorial that with almost 1,000 men entombed on the ship it is a cemetery and treat it as such. You still see the fuel oil that still surfaces from the ship. Did not do the full tour of Missouri. Could tell wifey was getting tired so kept to the two decks where Surrender was signed and saw and heard about Kamikaze plane struck ship. Captain, much to the chagrin of his crew, ordered the Japanese pilot to be buried at sea in a body bag made to look like Japanese flag. Message being this man had given his all for Japan and as fellow combatants show him some respect.

Did not do sub or plane museums. Each tour has sperate admission and we were feeling our day. On Ford Island the hangar the planes are in has bullet/bomb damage from December 7th. The old air control tower is maintained, painted orange and white, and I think still used. What struck me looking out the windows on the way in and out was the asphalt tarmac with grass growing up through it was that this place too was hallowed ground because Americans had been killed there too.

Polynesian Cultural Center is 75-90 minute bus ride from Honolulu. Covers the traditions and culture of Samoa, Tonga, and another six island nations the native Hawaiians came from. Skipped the luau part. Would have been midnight getting back to hotel and being two WLS patients return on investment for price of meal(s) was not worth it.

If and when you go if you want to golf - travel agent can hook you up with place to go. Use a travel agent the first time or catch a seat, or seats, on a tour package. Since likely you will not have enough intel to put a trip together and get in a crack. Big waves, 20-25 footers were hitting the North shore of Oahu but did not go see them or the Dole Pineapple Plantation. Maui was off the table because of all the wild fire damage. Have it from frequent fliers that Kona is great place to go. Off peak is time to go and avoid holidays, and December 7th anniversary. DO NOT RENT a car in advance. Get one at the hotel on a PRN basis to use for the day and bring back there. Space is LIMITED and and public parking is like buying retail space on Rodeo Drive! Gasoline is just as bad. Was scrapping the bottom side of $5 a gallon. Food is ass high to a giraffe and that is only because it all has to be imported. You will not find much fast food at all. Lots of Japanese/Chinese/Thai/Korean. Locals have their long standing favorites that they will literally stand in line to get. Malasadas in particular. Years ago the Hawaiians procured them from the Portuguese.

I can see us going back but not anytime soon. Have to let finances recuperate. Maybe go sell some plasma! Only gripes were a saggy bed and how expensive everything is. Traffic sucks but people don't honk or shout at each other. Check this out - they use their blinkers! Asian drivers are so polite. I barely touched surface. Like I said let fingers do walking, find travel agent, ask around whose gone etc.

Weight is -1lb

Weather in NY area is awful, about a foot and a half so far. Around me the plows have things cleaned up fast so it?s the bitter cold that is the bigger problem.

Watching football all day today. Surprised to see Denver QB Stiddy looks better than Nix.
