Does anyone work out at Curves since WLS??? If so, does it do pretty good to help keep muscle? Thanks in advance for the feedback. Hugs, Di

As your fitness level increases Curves may not give you as much of a work-out as going to a regular gym. It may be Ok for pre-surgery and for a little while post-surgery though, I guess it all depends on how hard you want to work out. Curves just did not provide me with enough weight training or aerobic exercise. Don't make a long-term committment if you can avoid it. Best wishes.

Di, My husband and I have a membership at a regular gym in town. There is a Curve's in town also, but since I started out years ago at the gym I just stayed there. Of course, right now I am still on restrictions and cant do weights yet. Michelle

depends how hard you work out...if you keep your reps up and run on pads inbetween at a good rate.and keep the cardio rate up it is fine for cardio.and it does help with toning...much is related to the level of intensity you create for yourself good luck, rae

Hello Diane, Curves is a very nice place .But like the other girls stated it depends on how hard you work out .I know for myself I once worked for the curves here in town & we had ladies all the time wanting to step up their workouts & we would tell which machines to use more or different exercises would help her the most .Good luck but before you start any exercising make sure it's ok with your doctor.hugs sue

I used to work out at Curves before surgery and after. Before surgery I would sweat my butt off working out, after my surgery I hardly sweat and I was actually cold in there. I barely broke a sweat. I had to find an activity that was a little more intense of a workout. Suzanne

If you want to try it, just don't make a long term commintment. I like high intensity cardio so that would not even come close for me. What you can handle now and 6 months from now will be totally different. Take care, Carey
