Topic: Where oh where are you people?
You mean to tell me there are no people who live in or near Warren MI or Center Line MI that had the surgery? I know I can't be the only one! I've been looking for people in my area to form a walking club or hang out, bowling, movies, lunches, dinner....something and the main forum board has been busier than this board.

Hi.
I had posted a while back about starting a local support group, but it didn't really go far (that might be what Boxermom was mentioning). Beaumont charges (and requires you be a patient of their WL Center), my WL Doctor's group charges, too. I just can't afford to shell out a hundred bucks a month.
I mean, whatever happened to gettng together and talking about "stuff". I.E.: My shoes don't fit anymore and my socks fall down.
There is a Coffee ******y in Royal Oak if anyone is interested in getting together maybe once a month, or every other week. It's right on Woodward near 12 mile, and not very crowded on Sunday mornings.

Topic: Random Question-What would YOU Do?
Here's the situation: Had an EGD Tuesday and have had a major issue with trapped gas. I told the nurse the day of, I called the office the day after. I called Thursday...was forced to make an appointment. I called this morning. I don't feel the appointment is necessary (between Maalox, GasX and a make-you-go-poop pill, and posts on ObHelp) because it's GAS. I just wanted to talk to the doctor to get some advice on if there is anything else I can do to move things along (no pun intended).
My weight loss doctor and surgeon's office talk to me (who inititally got me into this gastro).
Yet....nobody has returned any of my phone calls from the gastro's office.
So...I'm talking to myself, "Self...why the heck are you going to go to an appointment when nobody can be bothered to return your call??" Why not find another gastro?"
I can get into my pcp's office tomorrow morning. I'm not dying, I"m feeling slightly better (stil have GAS)....
My question for you...would you fire your doctor? I'm giving serious consideration here.

Hi there. THere are many of us out there. I live in southwestern lower michigan as well.

Thanks so much!!! There's so much to do before than....Nutrition class, last check in with the shrink, support group, ordering Protien broth, protien jello, sugar free popsicles (hopefully husband won't eat them all before I get home)....and then just getting things caught up at work so I can be out for a few days (job will let me work from home also). Whew...no time to get scared!
