Congratulations on dropping all that weight in a short period of time. (It's like losing an obnoxious 9 year old, isn't it? Exhilirating.) The closer I get to my goal, the more one pound makes a difference off my body. It's really starting to show in my clothes. Good thing summers are warm in Michigan, eh? We can wear (and afford) a lot less clothes.
I'm so glad that I did this for myself and I promise to take care of my little tubey like it takes care of me. Good luck with your continued 'skinny-ness'! We can do this.
The first 3 weeks after surgery I was not a happy camper, but now I have my energy back and I am starting to feel really good about myself.
I wish you the very best as you walk down the new path of weight loss.
I am interested in joining or starting a support group within 25 to 30 mile of Mackinaw City. I really think this would be very helpful in my recovery process. This was one of my goals when I started this process. So far I've kept 2 out of my 3 goals. I got the surgery and I started exercising on a regular basis (4 to 5 days a week).
I am considering a revision surgery. I had RNY in 2000 and lost 135 lbs. in 3 years. Then the weight gain began and I have since gained 60 lbs back. Is there anyone in MI who has had a revision and if so, what kind and where did you go. Also, anyone in MI have BCBS and was it covered?
Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Theresa
Michigan has the best weather for getting outside and exercising. I could go to the gym, but why do that when my roses need pruning, the lawn needs cutting, the veggie garden needs weeding? I just love this state and it's weather!
I'm walking on air this morning, because I weigh in on Monday mornings, and I've dropped almost 4lbs. in the last week. I love the way my sleeve takes care of me, even when I don't really deserve it. I'm about 7 months out right now and my life is good.
I've noticed that I don't have to squeeze through tight spaces anymore, I fit. And when I scratch the poison ivy on the back of my neck, my arm reaches around easily. I can cross my legs and there is no pressure to send it flying back to the floor because of chunks of fat on my thighs. Even my head and face feel boney when I'm washing in the shower. Did you know that you have these wirey tendons on the back of your knees? I didn't. How about the ribs that show through above your sternum? I didn't even know that my ribs were really under my skin, I never saw them.
This is the most exciting life's journey, other than having and raising my sons, that I could imagine. I want to tell every heavy person about the wonder of WLS, but I think most of them would be offended. So instead, I share with all of you. Thanks for being there.
