Hi Theresa..........   Haven't been on here in years.  Glad to see you here.  I was doing really good for about two years and then I slowly  backslid.
I came here to try to get myself together and tend to business again. .  I think I should have had a lot of counseling after surgery.  It's nobodys fault but mine, but I started using food to fix everything and comfort for tension and everyday life.
Hope life is treating you good.  Would be nice to see the gals from our group again.

I say this and this is MY opinion only!! walk 24 hours in MY shoes then we can talk about what I NEED or what I DON"T need!!
Hope to chat with you soon Theresa.. how ya doin besides this?? I'm glad to see the snow is gone hope it stays gone

Glad to hear everyone enjoyed their weekend.  Now if we can just string together some more just like it, we'll be in good shape.

Hi Theresa,

i too, have gained weight.  I think its just over 30 lbs in 4 yrs.  I wanted a revision, like maybe a stomaphyx or even to a DS.  I went to a bariatric surgeon, not my original as he doesn't do revisions.  Well, the doctor said even though I would qualify thru my insurance for a revision, said that I was a success story because I still was down the percentage of my total body weight.  He wont do a revision on me.  Said I wasn't trying hard enough on my own....

I could shop around, but I think he is right.  I am trying harder to stick to the post op diet.  Plus some help with meds due to a certain med I am on makes me gain weight.

I just wanted to let you know what you may be up against.  I was reading the revision board and they said the eRny only yields a weight loss of about 20 lbs.  dont know if this helps or not.  good luck.

Hi Theresa,
My name is Laura and I ahve just started the optifast plan. This is a medically supervised plan for weight loss. The food is shakes, soups, and bars That is all you eat. 6x per day. There are 24 week plans to6 week plans depending on how long you want to stay on the diet w/o "real" food. Then you transition back to food slowly and nutritionally. This program has counselors and dietitions. Every week there is a group support  and a topic discussed. Then after that there is maintance. I turned 50 last year and this year my knees have been bothering me. So I thought if I took the weight off my beehind my knees would thank me. This plan is also used before bariactric surgery to shrink the stomach and liver. Plus its a good way to drop weight quickly.
I hope this has been helpful.
Let me know if I can do any thing else to help.

I honestly think, for myself..that my surgery was a one-time deal.  I think if I gain weight back, it's me that is the problem and not the surgery..therefore no other procedure will help long-term either.  I think you just need to check out some local support groups, and try and get back to the beginning (as far as eating).  I'm really hoping i can and have made some changes that will not allow me to gain weight back..BUT..who knows..things happen.  I don't mean this post rude in any way..sure hoping it isn't taken that way..

I just know I struggled enough with the thought of having WLS at all..let alone think of putting myself through anything else also.  I wish you the best of luck..and hope people chime in here with some suggestions for you..

There probably aren't many "oldies" still on here from when I used to post often back in 2003 thru 2006...  Just thought I'd stop in and say hello.  Have stuggled the past few years, gaining weight back, etc....  Back looking at possible options for me.  Had the RNY in 2003, since then (8 years) have gained about 60 lbs back.  Thinking about options I may have or any that anyone else may have done.  Considering lap band, since it seems the least invasive...just don't know.  Any body have any suggestions?  Thanks:-)

this waiting game is about driving me crazy!! BUt i am  TRYING to stay strong!!  the nerologist gave to something yesterday for my nerves  so I took that last night so I got a good nights sleep so that helped alot.MY husband called the mayo  clinac for infomation and they said if I went there I could get all my tests done right away but could NOT do any treatments for 5-6  MONTHS !! so thats out!!! the nerologist said U of U usuaully has a 2-3 month waiting list so not sure if that is a option... I might have to do treatments at MIdland which I have heard  good things about them so that wouldn't be a bad thing. There is a cancer treatment place in Alma but I know a girl that works there and she talks  too much and I like my business kept personel.., the one  in MT.Pleasant the nero surgeon doesn't have much faith in so right now if I have to start it would be MIdland.
