I have been rescued. I wasn't aware I was missing, but I am glad to be found. I am sorry if I haven't posted lately. It has been a rat race around her. We were on vacation and now Chris's brother is here for a week. I am coming up on my date real quick. My sister will be in on the 27th to help Chris with the kids. The 31st I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM.
That's my update. Talk to ya all soon ~~Mindy~~

Topic: RE: Protein Shakes
I got the Unjury Protein. Chocolate and Vanilla are my favorites. I can tolerate Strawberry Sorbet and I have the unflavored but I haven't tried it. I have started taking them on days I don't eat a lot of protein. I like them.
That's all I have

Ohhh Erica.. I'm so jealous! And so happy for you!! We lived in Sitka and Kodiak Island and I've never been the same. Its a the way of life that I fell in love with. Hope you love to fish... we had so much we had to give it away. Now I look at Halibut and Salmon prices and I just cringe.. hehe
When do you leave?

Congratulations. That is going to be here really soon. Was your infection H. pylori? That is a bacteria that can live in your stomach and causes ulcers. They want to get rid of it before surgery. It doesn't cause anything else and you don't know if you have it or not. They can screen for it with a blood test, but the definitive test is a tissue sample taken during your endoscopy.
A great big huray for you. Diana

Topic: RE: RE: Getting Approved
My doctor and his insurance girl said that Tricare was really good to work with and usually have an approval within 24 hrs. My BMI is only 42, but I have several comorbidities. I have an asthma nurse that calls me monthly from Tricare. She says I really need the surgery and thinks it will go through without a problem. We'll see. my paper work was suppose to go in last Friday, but they didn't get everthing ready for her. She said it will probably take her until Friday to get it all in. So, I will know more about it by next week, hopefully.
Everything we have done through Tricare Prime has gone very smooth. And Tricare for life is even easier. She said they are starting to go by the BMI. Which has to be over 40.
Do you have arhthritis in your back? That is a comorbidity. Diana

Hi Kandy and Welcome!
Tricare goes by 200% of your ideal body weight if you don't have any co-morbidities. Tricare uses Metropolitan Life's table to determine ideal body weight. Here http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/met.htm is the ML table. So the 150lbs you have been told is probably high (luckily for us wanting WLS). I'm 5'8 had to be over 272lbs, I was 278lbs at my consult with my surgeon and once my packet was submitted, I was approved by Tricare within 48 hours.
Hope this helps and good luck!!
