Topic: RE: Had Consult
Depends on if you already had all test and paperwork done that is required by your surgeon, my surgeon sent me a packet that required alot of stuff be done before they would submitt my packet to tricare for approval I just finshed it all and on the 16th Oct I will see my surgeons nurse to make sure all in place and will submit to tricare then when I receive approval will set date for surgery. I had to have 5yrs of weight and blood pressures, letter from primary doctor for after care and need for surgery, blood work for my diabetes, hplory, chest x-ray, psych eval, nutrician class, attend a WLS group meeting, so if you have done all that your clinic request and whats required by tricare and meet the requirements then yes it will be approval for the actual surgery. If need more info let me know , I know its very confussing and time consuming. Tina

Topic: RE: Chantix! Tricare will approve...
Tri-Care paid for mine, but then again I got mine at the Military Pharmacy so does that count? I got mine back in May, it works pretty good it helped me to stop smoking, the only draw back ( no pun intended) is that it made me so sick on my stomach, always wanting to

Topic: Chantix! Tricare will approve...
In a few weeks! We called them and they are working on getting Chantix approved through Tricare. That is in their own words....a few weeks! So keep calling them if you can, and let us ALL know that it is available! I will try again next week or two. Whoever hears it first, PLEASE post it! Whooopeee! I really need this stuff because its so hard for me! I know some people can quit with no problems and I have quit smoking 3 times before and for some reason, this time is the worst. I think its because I have two very young children that causes too much stress for me to stop. I need the DRUUUUUG!!! LOL

Topic: Had Consult
Well, yesterday I had my consult with the Surgeon. I guess paperwork gets submitted to Tricare. Now here is my question. Is the paperwork they submitting just for pre-op stuff, and/or does this include the surgery? This is part of the process is all new to me.

Thanks everyone. It helps so much to have someone who cares. I'll take all the prayers and warm fuzzies I can get. Diana

It hurts to talk, so I will just have to be patient. now my left shoulder is hurting from taking over. I have bursitis in it. I am having to just laugh at my situation right now, although under my breath so it doesn,t hurt. At least I can read and I know I have people who care. I will get better. Thanks Diana

As a retired Navy wife, I understand your feelings all too much. I looked at it this way, I followed him from port to port putting my life second and supporting his career. Now that he is retired, it is the other way around. Just remember being married alone is a job within itself, and both parties have to work at it. Do not put off getting your college degrees. I am currently working on my Bachelors in Business Administration and Finance. I do this all on-line through the University of Phoenix. FYI, there are alot of military people who do classes. The other think, look at it this way you will be able to learn about the different cultures and new ways of cooking. It is an adventure.

Cristy, (((((((((HUGS)))))))) Being a military wife is the hardest job in the world. Right now, with the War going on and what not, it makes being in the military not too safe either. However, we have wonderful men (like your husband & mine) and women who are fighting for our freedom. None of us want to be in the shoes of someone who has lost a loved one due to the conflict at hand. Like you, I had a friend who lost her husband, and although I was sad for her, all I could think of was, "thank god it was not my husband". Also, since we are military wife's, our careers are constantly put on hold. The one thing I hate about moving, is starting over in the workforce. I work as a Medical Coder, and everytime we move to a new base, I have to look for a new job, and usually take a pay cut because of it...While, our husbands already have a job for them and don't have to take a pay cut..........Can't offer too much advice, as my hubby is planning on staying in until retirement. I'd say just continue to get your degrees at the new places that you go to. Most classes from college transfer with you, so you shouldn't have a problem there. And, please vent as needed. That's what we are here for...most of us have been on the very same path. Hugs, Beth
