Glad to hear you are getting the appointments done. That will feel good. It is getting all the reports in that seems to take the most time. Waiting is the hard part. But you are almost there. Hang in there it will happen soon. Diana

Hi Diana, well I am still crossing t's and doting I's when it comes to surgery. Tomorrow I have my physical theropy class and nutrition class. It is two hours long...but I am so glad to be knocking out two classes that I have to have in one day. Next it will be my psyc. evaluation that is on Monday Sept. 24th.(that is the last of the appointments I have to have.) The coordinator for the Dr. I am seeing says it usually takes two weeks for psyc. evaluations to be turned in. After paperwork is submitted it usually only takes 48 hours for Tricare to approve. ( Go firgure) I am thinking that my surgery will be sometime in November. If I am very lucky maybe toward the end of October. I shall trudge on. I will just be glad to get all the appointments out of the way...of coarse then comes the waiting game. Jaye Jaye

I understand your excitement. I couldn't wait. I waited 1 1/2 week. It was just enough time for me to get done what HAD to be done. I am feeling better than I have in a long time and I am sure it will get better every week. Even if I only lose 6-8 lbs a month, I will be a whole lot smaller in 6 months than I am now. And that is a lot better than gaining 4-6 lbs a year. I do wish you all the luck in the world and I hope your date is really soon. Diana

I don't think it should be a big problem. I just had my pschy eval done last week and the doctor does ask about the medication. But be honest. Tell the doctor exactly what the medication is for and tell him/her how it is working. I think you will be fine. though. Good luck.

You're right- it has been pretty quite. Well I am doing fine. I am a little excited. I go to see my doctor tomorrow to set my date for surgery. I am really exctied about that. A girl I work with has had gastric bypass and she looks GREAT. She is 6 months out and has lost 120 pounds. She has been my inspiration and my supporter. She has told me what to expect and what to look forward too. Like I said before- she looks great. She is down to a size 14 from a 26. She told me that she has never felt this good. She said that she thought she was supposed to always feel bad. I have never wanted this more. I know it is just getting my date, but that puts me even closer. Wish me luck. * Quick question: how long did you guys have between setting your date and having your surgery? I have heard 4 weeks, 2 weeks, even 2 days. Just curious.

Ive been doing great, just learning what my lil pouchie will tolerate. I can pretty much eat anything I want but have noticed my taste has changed. I sleep a lot, I usually walk 1 mile each day early in the morning then I rest/relax the rest of the day. Ive been taking biotin in hopes that my hair will not fall out or at least not be so bad. Im having a problem with not drinking while I eat, that has been the hardest thing for me, it kills me lol I do wait the 30 min before I eat and after I eat before I drink anything its just hard anybody else have that problem? Other than that Ive been doing pretty good. Glad to hear you other ladies are doing good. I will continue to keep everybody in my prayers thats the best medicine for us Hugs Donna S. Ft. Stewart GA

I was so glad to get to real food. I haven't had any trouble at all, but I chew everything to death. I got to start foods within 2 weeks, first soft, soups etc, but I was eating real meat by the end of the 3rd week. My Dr is pretty good at letting you procede as you can tolerate. I ate a lot of yougurt, cottage cheese and refried (homemade) to begin with. Just take is easy and only try one new thing at a time and chew forever as soon as you get something to chew. I even chew cottage cheese forever. LOL I just ate some chilli my hubby made yesterday. Heavy on hamburger and light on beans and very thick so it is dense with protein. Yummmy. I just can't drink the glass of milk and have a piece of bread with it like I used to. But, I am so stuffed I couldn't hold it anyway. See what happens when I don't have to work. I talk forever. Are you getting in all your water? I can't believe that I actually have bones in my ankles. That is from drinking my water. No more swelling. and my migraines have decreased drastically. Diana
