Topic: RE: How's everyone doing?
I'm here.. I've been thinking the same thing.. It's so quiet..
I'm still doing really well.. I'm still on full liquids post-op, but I go in tomorrow for my post-op & will move to soft/blenderized foods for 2 weeks I think.. I have to make sure tomorrow. Nothing I have ate has really bothered me yet, but there's not a whole lot I can eat either.. Looking forward to tomorrow where I can expand my food choices.
Hope everyone else is still doing well, hope to hear from you all soon.

Topic: How's everyone doing?
Things are too quiet here and I am wondering about all of you, so give me an update on how things are going. If you are preop, How goes the wait or the fight. If post op, How are you doing.
I am definitley a slow loser, but I am losing. I have to be with the amount I am eating. You have to lose eventually on less than 500 cal per day. I am pretty much over the dizziness and the best thing is I am able to ride my real bike for 24 min a day. I am hoping to add 2 or more minutes to that this week. Most food goes down well and tastes good. Except canned tuna. I used to eat it all the time, now it gags me. Beef works really well though. Fresh seafood is good also. My skin is shedding, yep just like a mild sunburn. Large and small flakes all over. I'm sure my hair is soon to follow.
So, give us an update so we all know how we all are doing. Diana
Topic: RE: Chantix
it worked great, except for me feeling sick on my stomach it was wonderful. I only had to take it for 1 month, and I had been a smoker for 15yrs smoked about a pack per day. Some people take longer some less but it took me a month, dont get me wrong for about a month after I had quit I was still having that urge for a cig but not anymore, so far so good, Ive been quit now since May. I wish you lots of luck.

They told me it was no problem they just want to know that the meds are working. I am taking Lexapro myself. I am doing finr with it. that is what they want, that the med is doing its job. Don't worry. You will be fine. Diana

Topic: physc eval? and zoloft?
so i am appraching my physc appt, and started worring about "failing" i am on zoloft for anxiety, is taking a depression/anxiety med going to hinder the dr giving me a letter to say i am mentaly stable to do wls. i dont have depression, but also know that zoloft will help after the gastric bypass because many people do go into depression, but just dont want to be considered not stable for surgrey because of zoloft.

Topic: Chantix
Hi, I am about two weeks away from my first surgeons visit and was hoping to have quit smoking prior to that visit. I went to my pcp and got a script for Chantix, got to the pharmacy and found out it is not covered under tricare. It is $125.00 to buy right out. I called Tricare and they said that if any of the base pharmacy's had it then you could get it there. Well my question is if anyone is close to Fort Gordon or Fort Jackson and have a phone number to their pharmacy. I live 65 to 75 miles away from either of the Forts. I can call on Monday and see if they have it and not drive to find out they dont. I am so sad that I havnt already got to get the medicine and start to STOP smoking. Thanks for any help I can get on this.
Topic: RE: Off Topic ~ Fort Bragg / Pope AFB Housing
I use to live at Pope and we had a 3 bedroom, 2 story. We were just there in 2004. The houses were pretty decent. They had just renovated the ones we lived in. They put carper throughout the house. There are many different styles. In our house, when you walked in the front door to the right was a breakfast room. We used it as a playroom for my daughter and when I did in home daycare. Then the kitchen was beside that room. To the left of the front door was a bathroom and then a laundry room. Then the stairs and straight ahead was the living room/ dining room. There were 2 hall closets downstairs and a back door off the living room. Upstairs was one full bathroom, 3 bedrooms and a half bath in the master bedroom. There was no garage. We had a carport. The houses that we lived in were the oldest houses on base, but they renovated them and they ended up being really nice. We lived in them before they were renovated too. I'm sorry I can't give you a better description. Some of the one stories were nice. But I didn't go into too many of those. Most of the people I know had a house like mine. However, they are similar to some of the new housing on Ft. Bragg. Unless they have changed the houses, that is what I remember.
