OT: Home Jewelry Parties

I've been thinking about a PT job for a while now and struggle with the idea of having to adhere to someone else's schedule.  So after buying some jewelry from Jennifer G (who sells Lia Sophia), I thought maybe what I should do is check into being a consultant for one of the home jewelry party companies.  I've looked at each of their websites, but it's not getting me very far.  So I thought I would see what others think about each of the ones I know about.  There's of course, Lia Sophia (BTW, I got my jewelry today and love it).  There's also Premier Designs and Silpada.  I also LOVE Silpada - most of the time it's out of my price range, but still love it (mostly because it's a lot of silver which is all I wear.) So my question is:  Are you or someone you know a consultant for any of these companies and are you/they willing to give me a spiel about becoming a consultant?  I really want the "goods" on each company before I make a decision.  I also need to know what kind of cost there is to getting started.  Lia Sophia is pretty inexpensive, Silpada is more expensive and Premier doesn't list anything on their website. And of course - if anyone is interested in hosting a party specific to one company or another - i'd love to know that too! Thanks much for your help!

I want to become a Lia Sophia consultant soon just for the discount. :) A little bit of side cash wouldn't be so bad either. I grilled Jennifer at the last MG coffee about all the little details. After having been a consultant for another sales business like this, I think Lia Sophia would be a great company to distribute for. I know nothing about the other companies you mentioned.

Quite a few people I know sell  Lia Sophia and they love it, plus you get a good discount.  People want what they can afford so I would lean more to Lia Sophia.   JMO 

I know that with Premier Designs, you get paid right away. Meaning, you charge the customer $20, but you place the order to get them item for $10.  I think that is better than waiting for a commission check every month or whatever.     I dunno if that helps, but it's what I know! 

I have a company comparsion sheet that I can send you on the different jewelry companies. It helped me decide on lia sophia. Ofcourse I would love to sign you up with lia sophia and give more info on that.  The comparsion sheet shows what company offer what for start -up , hostess benefits and other things as well. If you are really interested I would love to have you come to one of our training meeting so you can see all the benefits with lia sophia. I am so glad you love the jewelry. I got the comparison sheet - it really helps me see all the details of each company - which is exactly what I was looking for.  Plus I really like the Lia Sophia price point!  I would LOVE to talk more with you about it and of course I would definitely sign up under you since you're the one that intro'd me to it.  It sounds like from the other responses on here are geared towards Lia Sophia - so that might be what I lean toward.  Let me know when your training meeting is - I'd love more info. P.S., If I decide to do this, I have to wait until the end of Feb. for my bonus at work to get started - with buying my new car last week - fundage is short until then. Tracy,  I had the same urge for a part time job, I just signed on with Jockey Person to Person. I also looked at the jewelery, but I wear a lot more comfy clothes than I do jewels, so I went with this. I would love to check out whatever you choose to go with!! Oh, and I also really like Lia Sophia, but, the only consultant I know is not very pleasant! You go girl!!!!!

I have two friends that have either been a Lia Sophia consultant or still are.  I love, love, love their jewelry and their monthly specials.  I lost a lot of that jewelry when my home was broken into and sure would love to replentish my favorite pieces. You have my vote and business for Lia Sophia.\
