support groups

i am looking for a support group within 30 miles of red wing.  anyone know of any.  i will be haveing rny on july 30th.  my doc want me to join a support group.  someone told me to google em. and i am unable to find anything.

Welcome to the board and congrats on your surgery date!!!  How exciting for you!!! We have them in the Cities but I don't know about that area.  You should ask your doctor about them since he suggested it.  Maybe he knows of some since he told you to join one.    Keep us posted so others who are lurking on the board in that area know where they are too ~~ or maybe several of you can start one!!! Maybe you could call the hospital where you plan to have your surgery and see if there are any social workers that work there.  Social workers are usually a good source of info. Good luck on your journey.

Same here - no advice on support groups, but THIS PLACE is certainly a godsend!  Keep coming back here - we may not be "in the flesh" support, but I believe you'll get as much information, support, and butt-kicking here as you need! CONGRATS on your surgery date!!!  It'll be here before ya know it!

Red Wing isn;t THAT far from the cities. It is south-east. The group that meets in at Byerlys', (off Yankee Doodle and 35E?, heck I can get there just not tell anyone how) every other weekend would be possible.  It just depends on whether or not you want to drive. There are others that drive from opposite directions about as far as you would have to drive. Barb K  or Linda Anne, help me out with the address and directions for Mille please. Thanks, Karen

once somebody posts the address you can mapquest it and find out for sure how far you would have to drive. the support is worth it even if you have to drive a bit farther than you want. looks like you have a beautiful baby there, there are kiddos there alot, i have taken my granddaughter, others brought their kids.  some significant others come, it is all a big helpful social group that care about each other. i hope this is helpful, karen
