LADIES>>> Does loosing weight effect your period?
Surgery affected my cycle BIG TIME! Heavier and longer. I was told by the MDs office that it is typical. It will slow down once my body figures out what the heck happened. I could decide to go on the pill but I'm very leary of adding another drug to my daily regimen of meds and supplements. Maybe, if it gets really bad.
Good luck.

I know while on the liquid diet I lost 30lbs and it messed with my cycle and ended up not getting it that month. Now my body seems to be all confused and I don't know if it was the weight loss or the BC pills I was put on right after surgery but I've had had a very light period going on 30 - 45+ straight days now. I talked to the nurse at my 3 month check up and she said this wasn't normal so now I'm waiting to get in to see my doctor next week to find out what is happening.

My mom had her surgery in her mid 40s, and after surgery she had a period for over a month straight and then no more. Ever.
My (primary) doc told me to expect a lot of change as far as a period goes, and even wanted me to go back on depo provera to avoid issues with it. (Of course, after being on depo for 2 1/2 years, and since being off of it in August having a total of *two* periods, I'm a little hesitant, but that's a totally different discussion!)
