This Weekend

I spent the weekend with my mom and my sister and 3 nephews in Iowa and I had a great time!  My sister and I went garage saling Saturday morning in the "woodbury" district of Ames, Iowa and boy did we get some great deals!  The really funny thing was my sister and I were actually fighting over clothes!  There were a few tops she didn't think would fit me and then I would try them on and they fit, she was mad and glad at the same time.  The biggest wow for me was we picked up a blue hoodie that was a size medium that both my sister and I liked.  She thought it was her's but I tried it on and it fit...me  in a size medium!  She let me have it so that I would have my first size medium top!  Saturday night she was trying to decide on an outfit to wear for a confrence she is going to later this week and so I was helping her go through her closet and I kept finding things I really liked.  I am so excited I can not wait until I am the same size as she is and can share clothes with her.  She said that she can't wait either because then all 3 of us girls can swap clothes back and forth!  This is the closest I have ever been to my sister's size since elementary school!  Today we went to the zoo in Des Moines, which isn't huge, but there is quite a bit of walking to do.  About 3/4 of the way through my mom's legs were really starting to hurt but I felt fine!  I was so happy to not get tired out or winded or anything chasing after my nephews.  I also decided to add another race to my schedule this fall and will be signing up for the Turkey Run in Novemeber, which is a 5K, m goal is to be able to run the whole thing!  This WLS is so awesome it is taking me places I would have never imagined I would be!  I would like to wish all of the moms,  grandmas, aunts and godmothers out there a very Happy Mother's Day!  Love & Hugs! Nicole

Oh my gosh yes!  Who would have thought that clothes shopping could actually be fun!  The best part is last year when I would go to garage sales with my mom or sisters I was lucky to find one or two things, but this year I found a ton of stuff!  Hope you have a great week!

Nicole, You are such an inspiration to me.  You are just rocking this WLS and I'm in awe that you are so motivated.  Good for you, you are setting goals and making them and having a good time along the way,not to mention how healthy you are making yourself. Thank you for being you. Robyn

Robyn~Thank you!  I am having so much fun with all the exercise and everything that it hardly seems like work.  I believe the key is to experiment with different types of exercise until you find one that you like, then it will be fun and you will look forward to doing it rather than dreading having to workout.  I also think that a lot of the motiviation comes from the fact that being the same size as my sisters is now an attainable goal, it's amazing the difference when you believe that you will actually reach your goal.  Hope you have a great week!~Nicole

That is awesome!  It makes watching little ones so much easier when you can move faster than them!  I can't wait to see you again too!  Have a great week!  Love & Hugs! Nicole
