First off, let me say that I am happy and WILL NEVER blame WLS for what I am going thru.  This, as told by my PCP and the good doc at the hospital, was an pre-existing issue that has just surfaced after lsoing weight. Second, I don't write this for anyone to feel pity on me as I am happy and healthier now then I have ever been.  Just need to get to the bottom of REAL medical issue instead of band-aiding it. With that said, here is my latest developements and things to come after visiting my PCP for a follow up from the hospital: ~I haven't lost my fluid weight from the hospital and have added 3 pounds since being on the steroid to rise my BP.  I am being taken off.  SO that means my BP will probably drop again.*sigh* On top of the retension, I have had leg cramps and severe mood changes, so again, I NEEDED to get off even tho a short time on and it did bring my BP into a safe range. ~I am Mayo bound for sure.  I am trying to set up the appointment.  My PCP said she isn't asking anymore but is telling me and I have come to the point where I agree. ~I have to monitor my BP several times a day now. ~I may end up hospitalized again before I get to Mayo*sigh* I have sooooo many emotions going on right now.  I can't even put them into words.  I will ask that everyone understand if I don't respond or "hide" for awhile.  I want to be able to come here and give support but may not feel or have the words to say.  BUT DO KNOW that if I don't reply/respond to peoples success/wow's or what have you that in my heart I am so happy for you and am in the back grounds cheerleading you on!!   HUGS & LOVE ***Let me just add, that I will be around just not saying as much on certain days and on other days more so lurking.....

Sandie~I am sorry to hear that your trials with your medical issues are continuing.  I will keep you in my prayers that they are able to find a resolution to the problem and not just a band-aid.  I hope that you are able to get in at the Mayo quickley so that they can start to find a solution.  I completley understand why you might not be on here I just want you to focus on getting better.  Lots of Love, Hugs & Prayers!  Nicole

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this.  I know blood pressure issues are no fun.  I had gestational hypertension when I was pregnant...and then after I was banded I ended up in the hospital for 3 days because they couldnt get my pressure up.  It is such a miserable feeling...can be very emotionally draining too.  I will put you in my prayers and hope that you can get "fixed" soon.

1st goal-  Get back to my pre-pregnancy weight!

Sandie, sweet thing, you have to take care of #1 if you're gonna be worth anything to anyone else.  You will have lots of prayers going up for you and your doctors, to get this thing figured out and treated once and for all.

As frustrating and upsetting as this all is, I can't help but think THANK GOD you lost the weight, so this other issue could be revealed when you're healthier and can fight THIS issue!  I think of my dad when reading your post.  My dad and mom spent a few winters in Arizona after they retired, and usually ended up gaining a bit while down there.  When they returned to MN in the spring of 1990, dad started doing Slim Fast to shed a few.  It worked, and he went in for his annual physical weighing about 30 pounds less than he did when he returned home from AZ.  Without that added fat around his belly, his doctor detected a strong pulse in his tummy, and discovered a major aneurysm!  He ended up having surgery just a few weeks before my wedding, and was terrified about something going wrong.  But that surgery saved his life... He was a ticking bomb, and didn't even know it until he shed a few pounds. So go into this strong, knowing you are surrounded by the love of family, friends and God.
