I'm nervous

Ok, so I went in for my 6 month check up earlier this week and things are going great. Need to take some Vitamin D and Vitamin A but otherwise doing good. Now this is my problem, I got up the next morning and for curiosity reasons I got on the scale, I went UP 1 pound. So the next day I got on again just to see if it went away, nope up another pound. So today I thought for sure it was a fluke and I got on the scale again and it went up another pound!!!  I haven't been doing anything different that I can think of. I know I have been able to eat more lately and that is making me nervous also. I was sooooo proud of myself I was only 4 pounds away from my 100 pound loss and now this! Has anyone ever had this before??

Kim I'm goin through the exact same thing right now.  Its been 3 weeks and I go up a pound sometimes 2 then I lose 1 but then I go back up.  I can't figure it out either.  The only thing I can think of is maybe its just a plateau.

I would stay off the scale for a week and see what the net result of the week is. last week I went up 2 pounds, but have no idea why. Hoping this week it will be gone.

Too much time on the scale is a bad thing for your brain.  Put it away.  If you MUST check, do so no more than once per week.  If you keep following the rules as best you can, the weight will come off.  If you keep checking and freak out at what is more than likely just normal fluctuation, you'll mess with your head.   Just keep following the rules and stay off the scale.  You'll probably MISS your entrance into the Century club if you do so, but what a great thing to miss!!!

Kim, Weighing daily can be a bad thing when you look at weight in isolation of other factors. I log food, liquid, exercise, medical issues, overall mood, and sometimes journal when cravings are "intense" so I can start to see patterns emerging. My weight fluctuates 1 to 5 pounds every week. Up 2 pounds then down 3 then up one for several days then down again. I've found that this is just how my body responds. Stress also plays a BIG part in how my weight fluctuates and so do my sleep patterns. The other day I got on the scale and had poppedc up 7 pounds in 2 days. I freeked a bit, but then looked back at my log to try to see if I could see any patterns. I had been under a great deal of stres the prior week, my allergies were acting up and I wasn't sleeping very well. HUGE water retention...by today I am back down 6 pounds and I'm sure the last one will be following. Remeber to use weight as just PART of the overall picture, and if seeing the daily fluctuations makes you feel bad or obsess, then do as the other say and DO NOT WEIGH DAILY! You may find that even weekly weighing can stress you out. One thing to remeber is that pounds and inches seem to drop off differently and almost never at the same time. This may just be the readjustment time your body needs to let go of the fat. Stay positive and keep on keepin' on!
