Have you had a pizza craving...

only to go ahead and give in (since it's been 3 months since the last time you tried it), and when you finally get a fresh, hot piece in front of you, all you can smell is the crust, and it kills your craving?  But you persist, and take a bite, and all you can taste is dough?  I do not like bread anymore.  Smelling it ruins my appetite, and it just tastes bad to me.  I guess that's a good thing overall, it can just be a little disheartening sometimes when you just want a freakin' bite.  Gotta work on the head games, I know.  I need a swift kick in the butt, cause I have been having a lot of cravings lately, and I have been experimenting with all the wrong things.  I need to start experimenting with all these great recipes I have access to, because I am bored with my regular fare.

I have craved pizza! I get papa murphy's delite pizza low in carbs and a very thin crust! I have found that anything too doughy is gross and tastes bad even with sandwichs.

I've eaten pizza regularly since being about 6 months out.  Early on, I used to just eat the toppings mostly,.... I'd have a bite of crust...but usually never had room for it all.  So I focused on the protein of the cheese and meat.  My husband and I have had Friday night frozen pizza nights ever since we've met - and we've continued them even though I had WLS.  Post surgery I can't eat my pre-op amount of 1/2 a pizza anymore, but now I have my 1/4 piece and sometimes I can eat it all....sometimes not. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) nothing tastes bad to me post-WLS....I'm just thankful a few bites usually still satisfy!

OMG!!!! boy have I been craving pizza, I am only 3 weeks out and it's driving me nuts! I am suppose to be on the pureed diet at the moment but I can't eat baby food shall we say so I've been going to the next step, the mashed foods stage. I hope I am not hurting anything by doing that but I am feeling good so far. As for pizza I have thought about when I can just eat the toppings. Who knows....

Yep!  Like you ....gag!  UNTIL my DH bought from Papa Murphy's that Herb Medditrainian(sp?) CHicken Pizza!  YUMMO!!!  It has a cracker thin crust, herb chicken, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese and spinach.  OOOOOO sooooooo YUMMMY!!! And healthier choice!

Hey Christi, earlier on when I'd wanted pizza, I merely made my own without crust.  For example, my fave is Canadian bacon/mushroom/Black olive/onion with extra cheese.  With imagination, I mixed those together, and it tasted nummo, no fat, no cimple carbs.  However, now I get the South beach pizzas which are pretty good when the occasional craving surfaces.  Best wishes cutie!  Hugs galore, Patti

Thanks all!  Maybe I'll try a really thin, more natural type crust.  didn't I read somewhere of people using wraps as pizza crusts?  It's a good thing that my body is not liking carbs.  Have you noticed how kids meals are loaded with fats and carbs?
