Way to go Kelly!  I really needed to see your post;  since nine months followup, was told to simply get in a minimum 60 g protein daily, that it would not leave room for much other than a fruit then a veggie with each lunch or dinner.  Easily got into the habit of eating pretty much the same 'ol, same 'ol and with your six-day meal samples for six-months out, can modify to my one-cup three meals daily.  I've also forgone tracking both daily food and water, which really needs to be applied starting today.  Have been in a funk the past week, though finally snapped out of it.  Have been up since 3:30 a.m. yesterday, so gotta take my night sleep meds and get some good rest.  Hopefully will sleep more than the usual four hours, and made a goal to get out walking in the sun daily. Now gotta find out where the MG coffee is Friday evening to arrange transportation.   Have to cease with social   isolation , starting today.  As per Randall's post, it's really a good 'YOU' day, and I'm up for it (pun unintended!)  Have an awesome time in Florida--so looking forward to getting back to Mexico with a best gal pal for a week next February.  Make it a great day!  Hugs galore, Patti

Patti, I'm so glad this helped you re-figure what you can eat......Protein is so important, and since I wasn't getting enough I was hungry. I'm so glad your out of your funk......Those stink.......With the sun finally out my moods have been better. I'm looking forward to my trip, just went shopping today and bought a skirt & top, tried on some size 8 shorts and they were too big!!!!! They didn't have size 6 to try on, Dang..... Kelly

Great reminder - I could probably up my protein intake at this point, but I do get my minimum 54 g in per day. I just wanted to remind YOU not to fixate on that number on the scale.  You look AMAZING - ESPECIALLY for someone who is only 6 months out!  You DO have extra skin to deal with, but I've heard over and over again that it tightens up some even 2 - 3 years out!  And then there's the bone density thing.  Carrying around a mess of extra weight actually gives us some really strong, HEAVY bones!  So standing next to someone who has never carried the extra weight but looks exactly the same as you, you could weigh as much as 20 pounds MORE than that person!  So it's just VERY IMPORTANT to NOT get hung up on a number!!!   I do worry about you that way.  Don't spend as much time looking at what you think you should weigh - look at your SIZE 8's!!!  Look at how far you've come!!!  Look at how FANTASTIC you feel compared to that pre-op Kelly!  Give yourself some much-due credit, girlfriend....

Darla, Thank you.......Your so good for my ego........I am fixed on that scale, I can't help it, but I will try not to be......... I do feel good and comparing my pre-op picture and the one she took yesterday brought tears to my eye's.....Good tears.......My nurse was funny, she's like, You got all dressed up for ME?  It was alot of good info yesterday, and now I know why I was hungry and snacking, I wasn't getting in my protein......Today is going great to, NO HUNGER...... Kelly- Thank you so much for sharing this info!! It realy helps everyone I am sure! But for myself at the beginning of this journey it is nice to see the struggles too! Sometimes it seems like it is so easy for everyone and they are just adjusting to using thier tools and forgetting the struggles with food. I am not sure if this makes sense but just know that your post was very helpful and inspiring!! I will definatly keep for future reference!! Thanks again!

Your welcome....... It's hard admitting to everyone that I was struggling, but I'm honest and needed help and I went to the person that could help me best, my nurse.......I love the support on here, but nothing was helping the hunger.....Now I know it was to little protein...... Good luck to you in your journey. When is your surgery? Kelly
