6/24 Today I will...
It was my dream as I grew up to be a psychologist :) By the time I was 12, I had my full college class list made out and ready to go! As I got older though I realized that while I'm caring and good with people I internalize EVERYTHING! I would ******vous wreck in no time :)
I do enjoy being a "shoulder" though for folks so if you ever need that shoulder or a sounding board, feel free to holler :)
I very much admire the way that you go right in for the kill lol I tend to let things linger and that allows them more control over me. I've read from quite a number of folks that depression is very common... you are basically in mourning for your former best friend "FOOD" ... and when I thought about it, it made perfect sense. I "lost" something that I had taken to heart and LOVED for my entire life. Therefore I had to go through the grief process. There was denial, anger, regret, crying and finally acceptance.
and FYI the egg salad was as good as I had hoped :) I used a pastry blender to chop the egg so it left it a bit coarser than normal :)
Lori~Speaking of class lists for a degree in Psychology I just made my list for the electives I get to take and I have twice the number of what I need! I know that I will need to narrow it down, but I feel it may come down to what classes are offered and fit in my schedule. I have it figured out and I should be able to graduate with my BA in Psychology in three years taking 2 classes a semester to avoid burn out! I used to internalize things, but in the growing I have done in the last year I have learned to have good solid boundaries. I was in Barnes & Noble today looking for any books that deals with our relationship with food and how to make it health and came up empty handed so I am off to the good old internet to search. I have really been struggeling with the snacking that I started so I have severely limited my snacking and am now monitoring my caloric intake as well as i fear it was getting wildly out of control again. If you know of any books that deal with this topic I'd love to hear about them.
