Gee, in Thunder Bay the elementary school kids are finished for summer TOMORROW! Are you sure YOU live in the right country??? School starts the day after Labour Day, and we have more days off during the school year than you guys do. Probably all equals out in the end.... Keep saying "I LOVE MY KIDS...I LOVE my kids.." and repeat! (Q and I are going to be in the area July 3rd on the way (sorta) to Wisconsin. Any chance of connecting?? (((HUGS))) and

YUP!! So tell me--in which part of town is it more-or-less central so we could all get together for coffee or lunch? I'm thinking about staying overnight in a hotel, so I need suggestions about hotel locations. I'm in definite need of Sandie time!! It's been toooo dang long!

Ummm, central Mpls and St Paul. Does that help at all? Quin just graduated high school and will turn 18 next month. He THINKS he's gonna sit around on his laurels and do nothing. Boy, is he in for a surprise! He better be looking for a job of some sort! I just dropped him off at the Grad dinner-dance and he looked like a million bucks! (Same, either US dollar or Canadian dollar--hee hee!)

Oh, my dear! I can totally relate. How did I deal with this? I send my two youngest girls (ages 12 and 14) to YEAR ROUND SCHOOL!!!!!!! Ok - go ahead and PM me all the reasons why year round schooling is terrible. But for us, it works!!! The girls go to school for 45 days, then have 15 school days off. During the traditional "school year" the girls attend special classes which are fun - learn karate, scrapbooking, etc. So it leaves them about 5 days every 3 months where they can sleep in, lay around, fight, whatever. They are off the entire month of August and they don't have other options. So we plan our family vacation in August. Our 16 year old is volunteering all summer with a St Paul program that my sister runs at local community centers. So if anyone has older kids (I think between the ages of 9 and 13???) and you live in St Paul, sis runs an all-week program to teach about gang resisitence. Its tons of fun, too. And she usually takes them on a little field trip at the end. They went to Cascade Bay last week. PM me if you want more information. This is their first year - so she is having trouble getting the word out. But everyone who goes really enjoys it! Its a police department run program. hang in there! The end of summer will be here sooner than you think. Be sure to get out for coffee when you can!!!!! And stay fabulous! Kelly

WOW! All year! COOL! I don't want summer to end just want the kids to stop fighting! I remember being a little girl and we were out ALL day long playing and keeping busy or my folks would "keep us busy"

but now a days to many creepy people to let the kids stay out or play in the neighborhood! DEEP BREATHS INHALE EXHALE~ this too shall pass......on a positive note I am not resorting to food

My daughter plans on putting Koleby into year round school in 6th grade -- the first year he qualifies!!!!
