I just sent Musa atext message letting him know I wwas cancelling the date and no longer wished to speak with him. I told him not to respond and if he does it will be deleted and not read. I feel like a weight has been lifted off me.

That right there tells you that you did the right thing, if this date was feeling like a burden!  Don't be surprised if he does text you back, just stick to your guns.

Not yet... I test drove a Smartfortwo back in May, and put a few $ down to get on the 22 month wait list!  If I break down and buy something else before a Smart becomes available, I'll get my $ back.... But I really liked it!  Just not 100% convinced it's practical.  75% of the miles I put on my car are just ME, but a portion of those other 25% might require additional passenger space..?

We'll see...

I was going to respond to your original post about this situation, but decided to wait so I'll respond to this one!  The "love of my life" prior to my husband was my college boyfriend, who was a Muslim.  It was THE most difficult relationship of my life, partly due to religious differences, and partly due to cultural differences. I wasn't strong enough in my convictions or my faith to walk away before getting emotionally involved and giving too much of myself up.  If you have and want to keep a strong Christian faith, you are right to walk away from a Muslim or anyone of a faith other than Christian.  The Bible tells us that we're to be "equally yoked" with another Christian, and it makes such a difference in relationships.  I think you have done the right thing by walking away, and you will likely have to stick to your guns because I think he will try to contact you.  You are probably even more attractive to him now that you're less available to him.  I have nothing against Muslims, but the differences between the Muslim faith and Christianity are big ones, and if either or both of you are strong in your faiths, you're bound to have conflict.  This is a good learning experience, and you're fortunate to be getting out before you've totally gotten involved. I'll keep you in my prayers, and you're wise to stay strong!  Renee

Renee~Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I have known a few Muslims and so I know how strong they are in what they believe and after thinking about it for a day I just knew that I could not start something that would not work. I know that there is a soulmate out there, but I also know that in order to be my soulmate they need to share and understand that Christ comes first in my life. I am very glad to have all of you wonderful people here to help in times like this. Thank you!

Nicole...I think you have made the right decision for you. I am sure it wasn't easy to do but I am sure it is the right one.

Thank you Connie. Believe it or not it felt good to send that message and not have to worry about all the red flags and what if's. That and I started talking via email with a nice guy on Sunday night and per his profile he is Christian and from our conversations we have a lot in common. It's not too often you find a guy who loves the outdoor and musicals! So, we will see what happens with this guy. At any rate I am building up my assertiveness and knowing what I want in a guy.

Love & Hugs!
Nicole
