Soup for all of us Early Outs! Yeah!

Hello everyone, I am 6 days out and almost lost it a few times! I wanted to eat SO BAD and any soup/broth from a can, Ramen, etc. ended up being nasty and UNSATISFYING!  It was making me feel I was suffering and the other options I did like were sweet and you can only do sweet for so long.
Anyway, I will get to the point.....
I met my sister and my dear niece last night to go shopping for all her college stuff and we met at Panera first. My plan was to have milk...then we got inside and I thought, Ooooh I can have chicken noodle soup (it's lowfat on the menu) and would of course just sip the broth. It was DELICIOUS!!!  I haven't felt so satisfied (in the stomach AND the head) all week! I plan on going to Panera today and getting the "soup for a group" which is $9.99 and bringing it home, straining it and freezing serving size portions for myself to eat over the next few weeks! Just wanted to share with everyone...sorry it was such a long way to the finish line! lol
Happy sipping!
Heidi

Heidi - Congrats on your surgery and Happy Healing!

I remember in those first few weeks out - i couldn't believe how great refried beans and cheese were after the soup and broth!  Something to look forward too!

Best wishes on your new life.  Linda

LOL. I am already looking forward to refried beans and chesse (I already have it in the cupboard), mashed potatos, pudding and cottage cheese. I want to CHEW! Jello is NOT cutting it. lol
I know, every day is one day closer...it's not forever but I can't wait.

I lived on Eddington's Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese soup for weeks. It's AWESOME!

I'm not familiar with Eddington's...is it a restaurant or a brand? I'd love to try it! Thanks!

Eddington's is  a soup/salad/sandwich restaaurant in the twin cities area - check on -line tosee where the hearest is to you.  All home-mae soups.  Delicious!  The Wisconsin chees is to die for - as is the split pea, chicken corn chowder & several others.  YUM!

Heidi- Thanks for sharing the soup idea. I'll have to keep that for post surgery. Speaking of which, I should start making a list of all the ideas you all share, I know I'll forget when it comes time and I need them.
