OT - Prayer Request
Darla~I have sent up prayers for June and will continue to keep her on my prayer list. I also said a prayer for you as this must be difficult to see someone you are care for going through yet another surgery. I think it is amazing that you all are being right there for her. She may be able to fill out a form with the hospital to let them know the people it is okay to talk to and who to contact "In case of emergency" and "Next of Kin". Have a safe trip to the hospital and I know that the Lord will be right there carrying her through this as well. Love & Hugs! Nicole
You have the prayers, you know that.
As far as being able to get information - she should be able to list who can get information from the doctors. The other option is to have some of you listed as Power of Attorney over Medical Care. This gives you the same rights to get information, make choices in the event she can't, as the next of kin does. My parents have this for a great-aunt who doesn't have any children - and she isn't really a relative at all - just married a great-uncle (who was an uncle through marriage to his first wife) after his first wife died.

Has June been through surgery yet? How is she doing? With all the fiestyness you say she's got, I bet she'll pull through without so much as a hiccup.
Just a quick aside to all you girls online here. My mom had 3 stents put in her heart a few months ago after having no history of heart issues. The doctors said that women often don't get the typical signs of heart distress like we know men do, with the pain in the chest, or down the left arm. They said it often feels like something other than your heart, sounds like that's what happened with June. She didn't attribute what she was feeling to heart pain, and the doctors didn't pursue that avenue.
Just be aware.

June came through just fine. We were at Waconia by 6:45 this morning. She had 99% blockage in a main coronary artery! So she was transferred immediately to Abbott, and by 4pm had her stent in place - SUCCESS!!! She's just an incredible woman... I was sending out an update to "the group" as we awaited her turn, and she told me to ask if anyone wanted to switch places with her! Then she held up her O2 meter, and in the darkened prep room, decided to give me her best "E.T. - Phone Home" imitation! I have the picture on my phone, I'll see if I can't share it. Pretty funny.
She slept really well following her procedure, and will more than likely be coming home tomorrow. Another co-worker is picking her up.
And my boss, who is the BEST, told me not to claim sick leave for taking care of June today - she's calling my 8 hours "comp" time, for all the extra things I do. (never mind they weren't exactly work related!...)
Good People make me happy
