doctors
My assumption here is that if they are against you having WLS, they must have their reasons. If they haven't already shared their reasons with you, you need to ASK THEM WHY. If it's a personal opinion of WLS, rather than professional, then yeah - find a more supportive pair of doctors. But if they have good, medical reasons for thinking it may not be in your best interest to pursue WLS, you need to hear them out and understand them.
Personally, if my doctor had any red flags for me, I'd have been GLAD to hear them out - as long as those red flags were reasonable and had my long term health as their core.

Imperfect does not = unsuccessful
LIke what was posted before, if they have medical reasons, listen to them and it DOESN'T hurt to get a second opinion. Check with the WL doctors, they run tests too. Make sure you are covered under insurance. The point is they aren't HANDING out this surgery, if you meet the requirments of insurance and the weight loss doctor perhaps this is the right thing. Yeah surgery is extreme and should be the last resort... DUH, the information sessions will tell you that. I think you should go through the process, get a second opinion. There are so many things they check for before you can have the surgery that if there is a big medical issue it will arise there and can be discussed, at least that was my experience.
