WOW and YIPPIE FOR ME!!!!
I am so very happy for you. The impact of this surgery really hits home at times like these more than when the number on the scale drops.
As for the 5K - go for it. I am doing my second this Saturday. I NEVER thought I would enjoy running. I have an excellent ten week program I followed. Let me know if you would like it and I will e-mail it to you. Also check out the OH Exercise & Fitness forum. I have gotten a lot of good info and support there.
Take care,
J

I can totally see you there doing that! I am very proud of you too Barb! What an inspiration you are to all of us! I love it! That is great that you are going to train for a 5k. I have ONE important suggestion. Go get GOOD shoes at the running room or marathon sports. They will look at the way you step and how your feet turn when you run/walk. Tell them about past shin splint experience. It will be so important for you to have amazing shoes. They usually cost around $100! Worth it!!!!!
