Before surgery, I couldn't care less what color or shape the clothes I bought were--all I wanted was something that covered everything and was comfortable. I never owned or wore a pair of jeans(not even jean shorts) because they were too constricting and I felt suffocated.

Now? Holy crap, it's amazing how good I can actually look! Like at Target, I got a green t-shirt in an XXL in the women's department--not the plus size section, but the actual women's department. I felt normal and happy! I bought two cute shirts off the clearance rack(am still the cheapo sometimes lol).  Then I stopped at Deb... for what reason, I can't even begin to explain. Let's just say I had a wild hair up my butt that day.

This store is where good fashion goes to die. Seriously. It's like the 80's threw up an entire clothing store. They had neon and spandex and deliberately ripped shirts! I almost bought a t-shirt that read in big bold NEON YELLOW print "I Was Made In the 80's", but then realized... I lived through the 80's but was born in 1976! LOL

They did have cute bermuda plaid shorts on the clearance rack(again with the sales lol) and I got them for $5!

Then I went to Fashion Bug and found that the only color of the capri pants I found earlier this summer and REALLY love that was left was white. So I bought them because I wear the navy pair all the time! So I complemented the capris with a simple black v-neck t-shirt.

Still have to hit Old Navy, WalMart, and Lane Bryant, who is having a pretty good sale(for them at least). Maybe I'll head to Maplewood Mall tomorrow since I have two more days off before another long stretch at work.

OH! I also got my first pair of jeans during the winter clearance @ LB. Got them for $20, which is a good thing because now they're very loose. But I can't believe I never wore jeans before--they are so comfortable and stylish! I LOVE MY RNY!!

Wow I haven't been to Deb since high school, which was in the 90's, I was born in 1979 so I am not much younger than you!  I do know that some of the 80's are coming back and that is scarey!  I would have agree with you about changing about how I look since surgery.  I used to be just like you as long as it covered everything it was good, now I am actually concerned about how I look and wear make up and do my hair every day.  My sisters are amazed at my transformation and looking back at some pre-op pictures I am suprised at what I looked like (yikes).  Happy shopping tomorrow, I have found my saving grace this summer has been some phenominal garage sales in higher scale neighborhoods!  ~Nicole

I still don't wear makeup, because #1) I don't know what my colors are and #2) I haven't the first clue how to correctly apply it without looking like a total clown. and I guess #3) the makeup I have tried made me break out horribly. Adult acne, it does suck rocks.

And the thing about the 80's fashions that are coming back, it's not the cut of the clothing; that I can deal with and some are even cute, it's the god awful colors! No one on this green earth looks good in day glo orange or green. No one. And if someone tells you different, they need a serious head check! LOL

The one thing I haven't seen(and admittedly haven't really looked for) are the slouch socks.OH!  I saw a teenage girl last week with a white pair of sunglasses that have the shutters for lenses. Am I describing those correctly? It's 7am and I got squat for sleep last night, so I apologize!

Isn't it wonderful what this surgery does for a person?  I do the same thing...the problem is I just keep buying clothes, and I need to STOP! I get to wear some of these things only 1 or 2 times and then they are too big....gotta hit a thrift store or more garage sales!
