So nauseous I feel awful... thoughts?

I had my surgery a week and two days ago... cyst removal and adhesions in my abdomen.  A small nick in my intestine and lots of antibiotics in the hospital via IV.   That was over a week ago.
In last few days the nausea after eating is getting worse and I am not eating like I was.  I have lost four pounds.. ( not good)  and feel crappy.
Any help?  Im so so afraid.......

Thanks

First off - don't fear... you are a very very strong woman. :-)

Talk to your doctor asap in my opinion.. he/she will be the best resource.

Have you tried getting in more calories via liquid -- shakes.. things like that? It may help the nausea if it's being caused due to lack of calorie intake.

I'd also try breathing exercises during nausea...  breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, breathe out for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds. It can calm you and also calm the overwhelming feeling of nausea.

That's about all I got... I hope you feel better ASAP.

Honey, please call your surgeon immediately. Don't take any chances. You could have something as simple as a little infection or it could be something else.
I am sending healing prayers your way!!

Love and hugs to you....connie d

I have nothing brilliant to offer you, my petite little friend, just my gentle hugs and a teensie little shove towards the phone...

Darla may shove gently, but I'll push forcefully - said with love, of course.
I agree, if you're worried, call! Don't say it's nothing. You had surgery, there was a nick, who's to say it healed? Sure you got IVs then but did she check it to know it healed? I don't know anything about this but I really would not pass it off as nothing.

If it's just a calorie thing, then HALLELUJAH! If not, you'll be glad you called.

Did you post to the grads or RNY board? Just another thought.

(((Linda)))  Take care.  Don't let this carry into the weekend - you don't want it to get worse when there may be fewer doctors available.

For the nausea, peppermint *really* helps me.  I don't like tea, so I chew extra strength peppermint gum.  It really helps.
