My NUT Appoitnment
I went to see the NUT at PNC this afternoon and saw someone different as Amy was not available so I saw Shareen. She was wonderful and spent 45 minutes with me and wants to see me back in a month (due to her schedule it will be more like 6 weeks, but close enough). She really went through a lot of stuff with me and end result is this....I am to eat 3 meals until I am full - I am to eat foods that will keep me full (dense protien) and make sure to include fruit or veggies with every meal preferably fresh; at night around the time I usually snack I am to make myself a big glass of plain soymilk blended with ice and a teaspoon of flavor extract ( I picked up raspberry and french vanilla tonight); stick to absolutely no drinking during or 30 min before/after meals; keep a food journal including emotions/triggers; no multi-taks eating - we decided that since I do not have a dinning room table that I will close my computer and eat my desk with only music in the backround; she would also like me to start seeing a therapist at least once a month to deal with some of my past issues that have been starting to creep back - she reccomended and gave me the card to a woman in Edina but said that I am free to go wherever I want I may go to the Counseling Center at Metro State. I have a food journal that I bought prior to surgery but never used so I am planning on using that to log my food. I also bought the book "Eating Minfully" by Susan Albers I looked at Sherry's a couple of weeks ago and it looked really good. I am praying that I will be able to get my boat back on course and not get taken aside by currents of poor judgement. I shared a lot of this with my Mom so she has some ideas about what I am dealing with.
Thank you Kelly! I am really good at planning out how best to get back on track, just following my plan is what seems to really get me lately. So far I am doing good this morning although I am doing things a little backwards and had my coffee before my breakfast, but figured it would be better if I was awake and alert when helping Dad in and out of the shower. Hope you have a great weekend! ~Nicole
