Homemade Ice Cream!
I read on the internet that someone made ice cream using ricotta cheese. Since Wal*Mart had a sale on ice cream machines, I bought one and concocted my own low fat, sugar free ice cream. I used a container of FF ricotta, a 6 oz carton of lowfat SF vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup of milk, 3/4 cup of splenda and a teaspoon of vanilla. 20 minutes later - I was tasting a little piece of heaven. No tummy problems with it either. Next time I'm going to try using FF cream cheese instead of ricotta. By my calculations, that's 56 calories and 5.6 grams protein for 1/2 cup serving.
Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum... this is very very very tempting...
I'm going to try that! I just bought an ice cream machine too and have been making the recipes from The World According to Eggface website. So far, I've made the peppermint patty recipe and a chocolate chocolate chip recipe. I tried to make the rootbeer one, but didn't read the recipe and really messed it up! I'll try that tonight. Eggfaces recipes are protein powder and soymilk based and yummy!!!
