Oh no! I hope kitty is up to date on shots ?? My aunt's cat bit her about a month ago, pretty bad. I think she went in to the DR the next day, she got IV antibiotics and I think some shot. Also had her hand further examined to ensure no tendon or nerves were damaged. (I forget which) I think depending on how deep they are, maybe they need to be cleaned out professionally sooner than later? Sorry he got you, no fun! Keep us updated.

Hi Patty...I hope that you were able to get to a clinic or emergency room by the time you're reading this. My daughter is a Certified Vet Tech, and it's a known fact in the Vet community that cat bites are 1000 times worse than bites from a dog. Cats have many, many different kinds of bacteria in their saliva, and a bite to a human needs medical attention. As far as being scratched by a cat, a good dose of hot-as-you-can-stand water, along with an antibacterial soap & a good long scrub could do the trick. There is a very real infection called Cat Scratch Fever, although I haven't heard of someone coming down with it for a long while. I am what my friend's consider a 'cat lady', since I do rescue for strays and abandoned cats...we have a few here and keep up on all the health-related issues we can! Hope this helps you! Smileycons!

You need to get to a doctor ASAP. If you don't, you'll probably end up hospitalized.

Good luck!

Patti,  Sorry to hear that you got so injured.  I hope that the hospital is able to treat you quickly and that you can get home soon to relax.  Take care.

Hi Patti. Go to the emergency room or any urgent care facility. They'll need to check you out and probably give you some meds for infection. So sorry this happened. Bad cat! :(
