OT: ER visit update
First, prayers going up for dear Juliana for strength and healing. And for Kelly and Sandie's coming surgeries--the best for all of you.
Just woke up awhile ago here, after took vicodin and ffell asleep on couch when got home from ER. Good thing I'd called PNC urgent care before getting on a bus with both hands wrapped in towels--they just closed at 8 p.m. Next-door neighbor took me to ER., Got the puncture wounds cleaned (ouch), wrap-around ice packs, tetanus shot, and prescriptions for Vicodin and ten-day antibiotics. (never did see Dr's McDreamy or McSteamy....Grey's Anatomy) Was in so much pain after the puncture wounds were cleaned (er, scrubbed long/hard), took a Vicodin right away, Tops of the hands are so naturally tender without cat gouges...yikes. Last night I did know better than to break it up, to just let them go at it. but dumb thought to protect them from themselves. All this for the sheer goodness of my heart by saving Rusty from Animal control/potential being put down last Fri. when ex b/f removed from bldg on eviction (finally outta here, can't come on premises or gets arrested--good riddance).
This will likely curtail trip to State Fair tomorrow, as had planned to get there 6 a.m to rent an electric scooter for sunrise to sunset. Am typing with pointer fingers--cannot open/close right hand, so would be a painful day, and no taking Vicodin out there. Will let the two cats work out their own hierarchy--surprised the visiting one is dominant...gonna take another vicodin and go to bed. thanks for the help last night--just hate to bother others, didn't know if it warranted ER, but sure did. Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

Better to be safe than sory, Patti. Let the 4 leggers fight it out on their own. That is what they are born to do.
Cat scratch fever isn't only an old song. It is also a medical condition that can cause some serious problems. My son had it. So never, ever mess around with that. And purchase one of those pet nail trimmers that are advertised on tv. I hear they work well.

Yep, Cat Scratch Fever does exist. I had it about age 10. Spent a week in isolation at hospital, surgery to remove lymph nodes under right arm that were inflamed.
We lived on a farm with cats, dogs, cows and a horse and a couple ponies. The dr's told my parents that it most likely came from the claws not being clipped and the cats having free roaming in the barns.
Hope the owies heal fast,
Karen

"Do unto others as you'd have done to you"~ The Golden Rule to Live by!
You are what you EAT and WHO you hang out with! Choices=Outcome~ what's YOUR choice??
I'm not perfect but I am going to die trying!!!
First of all, thank goodness you're doing better.
Second of all, thanks for saving Rusty from Animal Control. It takes a special person to do that.
Third of all (is there such thing as a third of all???
) WELCOME TO MY WORLD! :) I have so many scratches and puncture marks on my hands/arms people think I'm a cutter!
I had to break up my dog and foster kitten the other day, and i ended up not being able to move my pinky for a day because of where the puncture wound was.
What we'll do for our furbabies...Gotta love them!
