Finally got a bite on a job app...
From a nursing home in Edmonton, Alberta, where my soldier son and his family will be stationed!! And this is only a 12 hour drive to where my daughter lives!! (Yeah---oooooo! So close!! )
This is not where I WANTED--but hey--this is the second place (the first being SLP....whom I did not hear from after the second call) that actually wants an interview!
I was really getting to like the idea of living in the Twitties.
But I guess I shouldn't get too excited--ain't nothing on paper, no formal agreements, etc.
But what will be, will be---- If God wants it to be so...

I just chatted with my daughter and she thinks having 'Grandma' closer would be ideal. Can you hear 'free babysitter' in that sentence???
But ya know...I'm really torn between moving out West near most of my kids, and moving to the Cities where so many of my friends live, and is pretty close to my siblings in Wisconsin, and up here where my in-laws are.
I guess that's where I'll just have to trust God to know what He's planning.
As for Quin--it sounds like he'll stay here in Thunder Bay, but he really doesn't have clue what it's like to be solely responsible for housing, utilities, food, etc. I guess he'll find out.

Oh Sue, I am ABSOLUELY saying prayers for you on this one! Like you said, if it's meant to be.... But I know you are concerned about how to - ya know, live? Pay bills? Put gas in the car and food on the table???

The email just stated they tried phoning but the line was busy--(dang teenager!) They want me to contact them next week for an interview. Don't know if that means another over-the-phone one or if they expect me to get to Edmonton. If that's the case, should they provide the ticket?
In the meantime, the job at the food-warehouse-department store seems like it'll be a busy one. Quin was impressed because they not only gave me uniform shirt, but also an apron, a notebook and pen, AND a NEW BOXCUTTER!! And one of the perks is a 10% employee discount!! OOOOO BABY!! I have a 4-year degree--would you like me to show you where the school supplies and oil filters are?!

So what was the "Bite" you speak of? Did they call you? Send a letter, did you have a phone interview? What's next? I'm exciting and hope that if it's right, it's right. Keep us posted. Being close to your son & daughter sure would be nice. You're right from your daughter's perspective "free sitter."

The 'bite' was an email stating they had tried calling but the line was busy. (I guess Quin was tying it up). They want me to contact them next week after Labour Day, as they want to set up an interview. Don't know if that means in person or over the phone.

Hey--you know how grandiose the MOA is?? Well, the West Edmonton Mall is the big brother to MOA, and apparently is EVEN bigger than MOA.
I'm having mixed emotions! As much as I'd love to have the grandkids nearby so I could hear the 'Gamma! Gamma!' in person instead of over the phone, 'out west' is so far from home! But that's one bridge to cross when I get to it...
